Favorite Late Night Show Host? *Poll*
I realize that Mr. Spacemonkey already started a related thread about this back in August, but this time I've added a poll. Tonight got me thinkin' about who here likes the different mainstream hosts, or if there are other hosts that aren't mentioned in the poll, you can mention them in a reply.

Whenever I actually sit to watch one, I prefer Letterman.

David Letterman definitely. Anything but Jay Leno, really. He annoys the piss outta me. Letterman is funny because he harps on the fact that no late-night man is funny anymore. The way he makes fun of himself for not being funny actually makes him funny in a sort of satirical way.

Conan O'Brien is my favorite. His show has basically made me into an insomniac its so good.seems like hes the only one that is keeping alive the off the wall stuff dave did in his nbc days.i mean is their no love for triumph? or what about a man that had john tesh, william shatner, and abe vigoda ride a three person bike?I alos like conan for his self deprecating humour and respect for the people he follows in the footsteps of (johnny and dave)

I voted Conan.
But I gotta step in and say that I don't find Leno bad at all. He presents himself well, and he can be funny sometimes. Although his jokes are pretty predicatable. Letterman on the other hand, as people have pointed out, isn't funny. And the fact that he is aware of this and makes cracks at himself about it isn't endearing to me, it's annoying. I usually want to reach through the TV and strangle the guy when he comes on.

Oh, hands down it's Jon Stewart. It's not just Jon himself though (although he is damned funny), it's the whole cast of characters that is on the show.
Not a show goes by that I don't have at least a few real laugh out loud moments. I've laughed so hard I cried at least a few times.

Letterman, it was between Conan and Dave, I watch more of Dave so he wins at least in my book.

A friend of mine once said
"Watching Dave Letterman is like looking into the mouth of The Abyss, it's terrifying." I'm not up late enough for Conan anymore, but I'd rather remember old Conan episodes than watch new Leno or Leterman. And don't get me started on Kilborn, if there was such a thing as 'Justifiable Homicide".... |

Conan and Jon Stewart are the only ones that make me laugh frequently. I voted for Conan.
I don't mind Leno that much. I actually prefer him slightly to Letterman. I don't watch either of them often, however. Watching Craig Kilborn fills me with pity for the man. At least he opened up the Daily Show slot for Jon Stewart. |

Conan gets my vote. The Triumph Visits the 'Star Wars' Nerds clip is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Check it our here if you want a good laugh: http://www.nbc.com/nbc/Late_Night_with_Conan_O'Brien/video/triumph.shtml
It's right at the bottom of the page.

All the late shows blow...with Stewart being the least crappy. He used to be funnier...but i get tires of hearing his political spin into all his jokes...gets old.
As for late late night...conan all the way. Usually his monologues get tedious and boring, so i flip over to kilborne for the monologue and commercials. Or if for some reason i dont like what i see from Conan.

Letterman is awesome. He's hilarious. And, although I like Bush, his million clips of George Bush's fowl ups (or spits on the White House front lawn) are hilarious.
And since Kimmel was mentioned, I think he's really awful. Hardly fun, and I don't see his audience belly laughing either. But... Quote:
