Another vote to Charlie Brown Christmas and A Nightmare before Christmas. Those are my two very favorites, by far.

Good call man, I wish I had.

Still watch the Grinch every year though, love that poor freakin dog.

Always make sure I watch Charlie Brown, George Bailey, and Chevy Chase, but also watch my tape of the Simpsons first Christmas show. The one where Homer plays Santa and then loses his paycheck at the dog track on Christmas Eve. Things look grim till they bring home the dog, Santa's Little Helper. Oh hell, gettin misty thinking about it.

Oh man! How could I have possibly forgotten A Very Brady Christmas? If I learned one thing from that movie it's that Spoiler: "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" can save a man from the wreckage of a collapsed building!

*sigh* I haven't seen this one in a while.

Charlie Brown Christmas

A Christmas Story

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated one, not that crappy other one) - btw, "Your a mean one, Mr Grinch" has to be one of, if not THE, best Christmas song ever.

Nightmare Before Christmas is also a fun movie.

Top two would be Charlie Brown and The Grinch (the original, the movie is a monstrosity), followed by A Christmas Story and A Wonderful Life. I'll watch White Christmas even though its very corny and Holiday Inn, which quite a bit better. Another one I haven't seen mentioned is Olive, the Other Reindeer, which is cute, with some neat animation. I don't think enough people see it as a classic (its only a few years old), so I don't think it made it into the yearly rotation that the big classics have. Sorry to you all but I despise Year Without a Santa Claus. The songs drive me insane. By the way, in those old claymation specials how come Santa is always so keen to cancel Christmas?

I can't believe that only one person has mentioned "White Christmas".

We watch it every Christmas Eve. We know every song by heart and usually sing along.

Corny and sappy, you bet. But it still means Christmas has arrived at our house.

much bigger fan of audio, so have to go with:
- The 30 min western version of A Christmas Carol from the excellent single season radio show The Six SHooter (edit: forgot to type name) starring James Stewart from 1954. Howard McNear plays the scrooge character with his usual skill
- Patrick Stewart doing ALL the the characters in the same story with very minimal supporting music and sound patterns. Have the 2 hour CD version of the same performance that sold out on broadway every year
- Any of Jack Benny's hilarious annual Christmas shows. The radio bits are much better but the Television show was decent enough for the weaker format as well.
- Amos n' Andy's Christmas shows; timeless classics as is the rest of the 30+ years of the run that Freemen Gosden and Charles Correll had with those characters.

"The Grinch Who Stole Christmas"(original cartoon), except I stop it 10 mins from the end so the Grinch wins.

I wish that I had.

I have to see A Charlie Brown Christmas...every year, or it just ain't Christmas. Even at my age.

We've been watching Mrs. Santa Claus, with Angela Landsberry for the past few years now. It's kinda sappy, but I've actually taken a kind of liking to it.

Great lines from great films:

scrooged -- bill murray and carol kane: "you know i like the rough stuff" / "the bitch hit me with a toaster."

christmas vacation -- randy quaid: "the shitter's full!"

but one of my all time favorites was the SNL skit where they did the lost ending to "it's a wonderful life" where they beat the hell out of old man potter at the end. my side still hurts from that.

I'll be a sheep and go with A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, Scrooged, Nightmare Before Christmas

and.. really surprised that nobody mentioned it yet...

The Snowman .. it's beautifully animated, with an overall pastel feel to it. There are no words in it, other than in the haunting "Walking In The Air" song midway through. It's a magical, wonderful, and heartbreaking at the end. Just can't beat it for Christmas magic.

Did anyone ever see Snowday (I think that was the name) The guy from Cabin Boy is in it and he drives a plow.
Movies like that are my reasoning that A Christmas Story is the best.

I love "A Christmas Story" How could anyone not like that movie?

My second favorite is "Its a Like Dat Christmas" It only aired once but was too funny.

That Rudolph remix special that aired last year was kinda funny too.

I would but I find that more of a Halloween movie, though I'll watch it at anytime of the year really.

For me it aint Christmas without seeing
1) The Grinch (original animated only not that POS Live Action)
2) A Christmas Carol (w/Alastair Sim as Scrooge and it must be in Black and White)
3) It's A Wonderful Life

I have to watch "A Christmas Story" at least 2-3 times each year. It is like watching my own Christmases from when I was that age. I too wanted a BB gun when i was 7-8 yrs old, and never got one. I can totally relate to this movie.
