THE LONGEST YARD for soccer

I saw a movie the other night that I thought was incredible, it was a movie called MEAN MACHINE. And for any of you football movie enthusiasts you will remember that name from the movie THE LONGEST YARD (w/ Burt Reynolds). I've never seen a movie follow a story line as closely as this one did. Everything was there. I was wondering if anyone has seen this and caught the similarities as I did. And what is your thought about someone taking a football classic and making it into a soccer movie? (I'm a huge soccer fan and thought it was great!!)
