Elephant - New Gus Van Sant movie. -Spoilers?- - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I was wondering, has anyone been to see this movie yet? And if so, what was your take on the movie?

I saw it last night and was kind of.. disappointed. The people I went with personally knew some of the actors in it, and it appears that what happened was Gus or whoever just casted a bunch of locals, and shot a film at a school. If that is any indication of the acting in the movie, I am not sure what is. Overall, the movie was not THAT bad, but it definetly could have been better. I guess, casting highschoolers would make the whole highschool theme of the movie seem more lifelike, altho I definetly would beg for my life a little harder then some people in that movie.

Thoughts?

I heard that the two actors who played the killers had sex with eachother and that there was no reason for it, other then pleasing the director was accused in a child porn case. Either way I heard it wasn't that good so I don't know if I'd rent it.
