v is excellent. probably my favorite pynchon book. even though only two things really stick with me: the idea of doing a yo yo and the priest haranguing his congregation of rats.....

John Maxim's "Bannerman's Law" (on the bus)
BTW, I finished the Donaldson's first Gap Cycle book. It was okay and filled the time. I don't think it is a raver, though. For some truly twisted plots, try on W. Michael Gear's Spider triolgy (Warriors of Spider, Web of Spider, Way of Spider) or his Forbidden Border's triolgy (Brain dead this morning, I can't think ofthe titles).

Currently reading "Dry" by Augusten Burroughs - it's a about a gay, recovering alcoholic ad executive.
Started off really well - the chapters on the spiral down and rehab were fun, but the latter half is losing me a little.

I just started reading Generation Kill by Evan Wright, I read his columns in Rolling Stone about the war in Iraq called the Killer Elite and I thought it was very interesting so i was really glad that he wrote a book out of it. Im only 3 chapters in, and its already really good.

The Da Vinci Code, took a break at chapter 33. The book is very good so far. In fact, I need to continue and see what happens next!

My historical Linguistics textbook so I don't fail the course when I have to take it at the same time as it's pre-req. Also, at the same time (read: instead of) A Place to Call Home by Gabrielle Wills: a local writer from Lindsay, Ontario.... Amazing book for a first time author... very hard to find but worth it, if you're interested in historical fiction.

Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Identity. Not my usual read at all, but having seen the movies recently, I decided to take a stab at it.
