Wow, I wanted to cut my wrists, stab a stake through my own heart, and shoot myself in the head twice. If you're looking to blow 6-10 dollars on decent special effects, shitty plot, Jessica Biel shaking her shit (the girl is absolutely gorgeous), Wesley Snipes destroy vampires a third time, and Ryan Reynolds crack stupid jokes, this one is for you.

One long iPod commercial and the only redeeming quality about the movie was Jessica Biel being hot and Ryan Reynolds comedy.

Meet the Fockers
Despite sitting 2 rows back and being nauseas, the movie was hilarious albeit a bit predictable.

Ocean's 12
Great movie, confusing plot at times. End was pretty neat although a tad predictable. Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Matt Damon work brilliantly in this movie.

Pretty great movie. Light on plot, really cool scenes. I wasn't too big a fan of Jet Li before, but he moves so fluidly in his scenes, that I realize all of this stuff where they teach stars "martial arts" in a couple of weeks is crap. They'll never be able to move like him.

a guy maddin extravaganza. visually quite interesting film. musically too. the writing....um....not sure. maddin is a very cool director and his short films are fascinating. i am not sure that he has worked out how to operate as effectively in a long form. more investigation required. his films--including this one--are recommended for the visuals and sound at the very least.

The movie is about a couple of Tennis players that fall in love. There are too many things though that aren't true about what people do at Wimbledon. Makes me angry when movies aren't accurate.

Anchorman - 6/10. i generally like will ferrell and expected to really like this movie, but i thought it was just a little better than ok. it was funny, sometimes even very funny, but not consistently so (at least, to me). i bought this instead of Dodgeball with some store credit i had from a Christmas return because i'd already seen Dodgeball. now that i've seen both, i kinda wish i'd bought Dodgeball (i actually wanted to buy Shaun of the Dead, but that store didn't have it). the Brick Tamland character almost brings this rating up a whole point as far as i'm concerned - he was great! my two favorite scenes: Afternoon Delight (which i'd seen several times prior to actually seeing the movie) and the big rumble with all the different news teams (lots of great cameos there!).

Another powerful Wes Anderson journey. My fear that he tried to duplicate The Royal Tenenbaums was nullified as I saw that Anderson only tried to tell an equally capitivating (and strangely realistic) story. I can't wait until it comes out on DVD!

The movie about Roger Marris and Mickey Mantle's run at breaking Babe Ruth's homerun record. This movie was very accurate, and very well done. It's amazing to see the drama, passion, and feelings that went into baseball during that time from the players to the fans on through the media. It makes breaking that record then seem like a much greater accomplishment then what McGuire did since the whole world was rooting for him........ and then there were the 'roids. That's a whole different argument though.

4/5

Excellent movie. Cool color. The first half of the film is processed to look like two strip technocolor, the second half to resemble three strip technocolor. Even without the cool movie nerd stuff, it's an excellent story. Great acting by Decaprio (never thought I'd say that). 9.5/10.

Closer - 5/10

I came out of the theatre disappointed. The plot was not very strong, missing many supporting details that could've given more credibility or even understanding to it. Given, the movie managed to keep me in my seat without getting too anty, and Natalie Portman was beautiful as usual...but if you just want to see her I strongly recommend Garden State.

an early cassavetes film. lots of interesting stuff floating about. but for some reason, every word that is spoken in thie film has a strange kind of cadence to it. and a very cool formal game playing around with black and white (the film, the plot). i would not start here with cassavetes, but this is a cool film.

Before Sunset.... I never saw Before Sunrise, but I don't think you need to have seen it to see this followup. They recap it all pretty well. I was impressed with this movie. There's nothing fancy, in fact it's basically one shot/one conversation. It's just one of those dialogues that put perfectly into words the way you're feeling or have felt about life. When a writer can convey that as well as this movie did, it's worth seeing............. 4/5

White Noise - terrible. I watch a lot of bad movies, and usually there are one or two redeeming qualities about them, like "Well, at least it made me laugh" or "At least it made me jump" but no. Not White Noise. I couldn't wait for it to be over, almost walked out. 0/10.

Didn't realize so many people despise it so much. I thought it was decent, nothing mind blowing, but nothing all so terrible either. The ending was senseless and there was really no point to it. The parts that were supposed to be scary really werent, but those jump out at you scenes really don't usually scare me anyway. It was average, nothing horrible, nothing amazing. It would have made for an excellent TV movie.

No, I didn't go alone to see it. I went with some people who probably appreciate Mr. SquarePants more so than I. They gave it an 8/10, but this is my review.

From an adult perspective, a soul-crushing and morbidly depressing way to be robbed out of $30. $12 for a coke, a bag of candy, and a small tray of dry nachos. I would have felt better tossing the money into a fireplace.

Hotel Rwanda - 8.7/10

This is a great film. It's very intense and will keep you at the edge of your seat. The acting is very realistic (I especially enjoyed Don Cheadle's acting) and will leave you feeling as if you actually experienced it. The film sheds some light on the 1994 Rwanda genocide from a Rwandan's perspective. Highly Recommend!

The Village 7/10

I finally saw M. Night's latest movie on DVD. Have been impressed with his movies in the past and obviously new that there would be a twist at the end, following his standard formula of the Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs. In general the Village was good however I thought that the run through the forest could have been much worse if he had chosen to flash back to the forbidden barn towards the end of the film, and maybe not even shown the identity of the 'monster' until Ivy had returned to the Village.

Overall enjoyable 7/10 stars.

Went to see "The Aviator" starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Cate Blanchet at the theater last weekend. I give it a positive 4 out of 5 stars. Best seen on the big screen esp. becuase of all the shots taken while flying various planes, and the lavish Hollywood scene was handled in an interesting fashion. Suprisingly, this may be Leonardo's first real edidence that he is a true actor and has matured a lot with this film. He did a fine job & the script holds several surprises. Has interesting political side bars to add some historical depth.

Rented "Anchorman-Legend of Ron Burgundy". Very overrated.

The movie is a boy meets girl, loses girl, loses dog, loses job to girl, gets all back story. It has very, very few funny moments, in fact at times it looks like the cast tries to hard to make something seem funny and in doing so just makes it worse.

I feel the movie could have been funnier if it had gone in a different direction. Perhaps, allowing the audience to truly see more of the "news" crew and develop the characters more. This movie felt almost like a sequel, where you should know the subplots like the rivalries between the other news anchors, or the news directors dysfunctional family.

Truly if the movie had focussed on the station at first and then added this as a sequel perhaps it would have been more amusing to watch. As it happens now, the movie is bogged down in trying to find a direction and trying to get you to care about characters that you have no familiarity with and refuses to truly introduce you to fully.

Overall the movie rates a 4 out of 10. IF it had been a sequel, it quite possibly could have ranked higher.

Better than I expected. Being a Greek-myth-o-phile, I was a little put off by the story changes and the ignoring of subplots. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the end result. I hope Brad Pitt survives that course of steroids he must have taken to bulk up like he did.

I went to the video store...

I Capture the Castle: 5/10
It might be good if you haven't read the book (the rental girl said she loved it) but very disappointing if you have. Lacks magic (like Harry Potter 1&2, it's too similar to the books, but doesn't have the same charm.)

Dead Poets Society: 8/10
It's actually surprisingly not boring. There are some real personalities in this movie, it's got a real sense of bond between the boys. Robin Williams should've done more of this kind of movie instead of Mrs. Doubtfire.

Fried Green Tomatoes: 8/10
Chris O'Donnell (sp) really stole the show, and everyone else was great. The plot was kind of... pointless.

Gone With the Wind: 5/10
OMG, how can anyone stand Scarlett? I just can't like a protagonist this selfish and cold-hearted.

The Bourne identity: 6/10
Several points taken off for Marie. How does Jason put up with her? The rest of the film was pretty good, especially the beginning. It was cool seeing him use his skills for the first time.
