Anyway, the last movie I saw was SE7EN with Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt about a guy commiting murders based on the seven deadly sins. Brad Pitt plays an unusual role and the ending is great. 9/10. |
last movie i saw was Kill Bill.
i give it a 10/10. i loved every bit of it. especially the music selection.... just like Pulp Fiction, Tarantino absolutely picked great music. |
The last movie I watched was Gangs of New York.
It was long (almost 3 hours) but interesting. I cant decide if I REALLY liked it or not, though. I give it a 6.5/10. I just bought Matrix Reloaded and Charlie Angel's Full Throttle. I will let you know how they are. |
Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter
Link> http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0311361/ I rate it 3 of 5. It was entertaining, original and funny. Enough to make up for not-so-great acting. Basically no budget. It's has comedy, b-movie horror, lesbian vampires, musical bits, and kung fu. Yeah.... That's what I said when I first heard about it. :) |
Kill Bill - I wonder how much of the budget was devoted to prop body-parts and fake blood... B+

High Fidelity
I liked it. |
Matrix: Reloaded
Saw it in the theatre, just watched on DVD twice. While it wasn't quite the same as the original, I thought it really moved the story along, and setup what I think should be a fantastic third chapter. 4/5 Plus, the freeway scene was the greatest chase scene ever put on film, and seeing the bonus footage of how they did it made it even better. |
Ronin. 4/5. It was tough to follow at times, but I love Robert deNiro.
|
School of Rock
4/5 - Good movie, not overly funny but it was a real good movie. |
Heat
uh. Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino in the same movie? that has classic written all over it, and guess what, it is. it gets kinda boring and pointless in a couple places but overall good stuff, and it has one of the best action scenes of like, all time. the shootout in the street is the best scene ever. 9/10 |
Man, I really need to see Heat again. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I remember really liking it. For some reason though, I don't remember it too well.

Kill Bill
Here's my warning if you haven't seen it yet: this film is extremely gory, and NOT for the squeamish. It's fun gore, though. Done cartoonishly, and with a lot of humor. The violence actually gets SO over-the-top that it's hysterical. lurkette and I ended up lauging right out loud during most of the fight scenes later in the movie. Like most Tarantino films, you spend the first half our figuring out what the hell is going on, the middle half hour piecing things together, and the last half hour enjoying the ride. There's so much that's just plain WRONG in this film. From the Pussy Wagon to Gogo the Insane Japanese Schoolgirl.... It's a visual adventure and good, high-adrenaline fun from start to stop. I give it 9 blood-spurting neck-stumps out of 10. |

3/10, and only reason I gave it a 3 instead of 2 or 1 is because it did build up a little suspence at the beginning. Boring movie and, *possible spoiler next*: The way the guy decided on how to rescue the woman and the girl from the army camp was completely moronic. |
The Pianist. 9/10. Very moving. Not quite as good as, say, Schindlers List, but not much is. A damn good movie.
Very good soundtrack, too. <-- Likes his Chopin. |
I just finished watching Changing Lanes. I was pretty disappointed. Dispite the fact that the movie isn't all that long, it seemed to drag on way too slowly. On top of that it was painfully obvious where the movie was headed and how it was going to end. Samuel L. Jackson was pretty good in his role of Doyle Gipson, but Ben Affleck didn't pull through (when does he ever?) with his character.

28 Days Later
A good movie overall. Certainly not "scary as hell" as it was touted in the theaters. A good take on traditional "zombie" type movies. I especially liked the beginning with the lead character (his name escapes me right now) wandering about the deserted city. That was awesome on many levels. 3.5/5 |
I just saw 28 days later and I liked it. Funny thing, it wasn't that scary at all. Go figure...
3/5 |
MATRIX RELOADED
SAD, VERY SAD Tried to hard with the philosophical stuff. To Be Continued ending. |
The devil's advocate on TNT, after MNF game started to suck.
5/10 Story is interesting, very watchable, would have been higher, but minus 1 for the good stuff that was edited minus 1 for Keanu Reeves's faces minus 1 for the ending-it still irritates me. then again, it was good enough to get me to sit through it again. |

Dreamcatcher **1/2 (out of 5)
Not what I was expecting, and the ending left me empty like I ate rice cakes for 3 hours. Good effects though. |
Last night I watched The Score (Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton) for the second time. I'm not sure why I watched it again. I didn't really like it the first time. The acting is great, but the movie is just another heist movie. Nothing terribly exciting or creative.
** out of **** (for the acting alone) |
The Bourne Identity. Id give it 3 out of 4 stars. Not a great movie, but entertaining, and pretty smart. I enjoyed it.
|
Just got back from the movies and Kill Bill is an absolute standout for me.
Black humor and wild fight scenes really kept me going for the entire movie. |
American History X
I've seen it at least 1/2 a dozen times and its still as good as the first time. 4/5 |
I saw "Friend" last night it was a Korean movie and by far the worst move i have ever seen. Normaly i don't rate movies under 3/10 but this was a 1/10 rating.
|
i saw thirteen in theatres last wednesday.
it was about a 13 year old girl and her life-- how she gets into the 'cool' group and starts taking drugs and all that. it was very good and depressing and relatable. 5 stars :P |
I stayed in last night and watched Cannibal: The Musical with the drunken director's commentary. I've seen the movie several times, but it had been a while since I'd watched it with the commentary track. It's definately a recommended view/listen if you're a fan of Matt & Trey. They still give some pretty interesting info on the movie (well, Matt hardly says anything...) but as the movie goes on, they just end up drunk and keep farting on each other and into the microphone.

last flick i saw was Laurel Canyon...
i was initially attracted by the cast of Frances McDormand and Christian Bale... (as well as Kate Beckinsale and Natascha McElhone) who never fail to give great performances. i mean, in the case of McDormand, there are actors who transform themselves with each new role, and there are others who convince you they donŽt have to... shes the second option... and i love her work. she seems to promise that if you stick with her character, you will be entertained, stirred or shaken. i think the trouble with this flick is the story. it fails to make each character equally interesting. which in this case makes things hard to seriously. but that doesnŽt really matter. its a sly comedy about erotic possibilities. this film depends on your expectations. i doubt youŽll be shaken, or stirred... but McDormand will leave you entertained. |
Yesterday me and my friends sat down and viewed the classic kurt russel flick "big trouble in little china town".
First off, if you havn't seen this movie, you havn't lived yet. This movie has it all, action, adventure, love, and hundreds of catchy one liners. The fight scenes are superb, special effects top notch and most importantly this movie gives the average person a great insight into the day to day activities that take place in china town. I give Big Trouble in Little China Town 2 thumbs up |
Kill Bill , 10/10. It was such a different movie, so visually appealing and entertaining, unlike half the shit Hollywood spews out these days.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre = 1/10, and the only reason it gets a 1 is because it's gotta Jessica Biel in a wife beater. Oh man.. |
Poolhall Junkies
I'm a poolhall junkie myself, so I really enjoyed this flick. Lots of fast talkin', trick shootin', and good old fashioned hustlin'!! 4 out 5. |
The New Guy
Sure, it was the second time I've seen it due to some circumstances... but all it all it just wasn't that good. Very good to some, just another movie to others and myself. 3/5 |
The Matrix Reloaded (yes, i hadn't seen it until yesterday)
6.5/10 Maybe a little harsh, but I really disliked the storytelling method. Rather than letting the plot unfold naturally and allowing the viewer to realize what was going on, monologues moved the story along. good ideas, but just executed badly. on a side note, the fights were mostly fantastic, but a movie that takes itself that seriously should be judged on more than action. |
Cinemas - Kill Bill 8/10
I agree with Eclipse with all the strange stuff the Tarantino was using in the film, it was spectacular, although I was chuckling at some of the stuff through out the movie.. hehe.. What it DID remind me of was a live action manga film >_< I will be waiting for the next one.. |
Cinema: Kill Bill 9/10. I like the movie a lot. Sad that there was a black/whote scene and that the ending was strange. Needed the end, cant wait until march.
Home: Dumb and dumberer - when Harry met Lloyd or something 4/10. Very low humor. |
Rewatched Matrix: Reloaded last night. Definitely a better movie the second time through. I don't see why so many trash on this movie....it's a total mind fuck, which is right up my alley. Any movie that presents so many unanswered questions has to be rated high.
|
Down with Love (Ewan McGreggor, Renee Zelwegger)..... don't ask. 4/10 Never in a million years would I watch this movie by choice. Nevertheless visually it was a well constructed movie, decent, if not some what pointless plot, camp, actually not that horribly bad. The reason it rates so low is more because it seemed to be riding the coattails of Chicago (with it's remarkably annoying music) and the fact that what's her face is in both of them. And I really don't need to ever see Ben Kenobi singing ever again.
Replay value: -643/10 (I think there may have been a monkey in there somewhere.... I like monkeys.) |
Predator 2
watched on TV last night, but im gonna go off the real movie and not the TV edited movie cuz ive seen it without all the shit cut out of it Its a good sequel to Predator, which is one of the greatest action movies of all time if you ask me. The beginning scene in Predator 2 is like, freakin intense, its a violent shootout between the police and some jamaican gang. Its brutal. and of course the predator comes in and rips everyone apart. ahaha, the movie is damn good. Danny Glover back when he was a badass. 4/5. It would be perfect, except for the part where the predator goes crashing through the window of that old ladies bathroom in her apartment. and she just comes out of her bedroom going "i think i just heard something" that whole scene right there was kinda dumb, but everything else is tight |
