Goodfellas- 4/5
Great movie, hilarious. I'm a really big fan of mafia movies, and this one is up there on my list of favorites, The Godfather being number one. The Wind Will Carry Us. 3.5/5 Filmed in Iran,(english subtitles) beautiful scenery and the village is also beautiful. Good storyline too. |
DUMB & DUMBERER: 8/10
It was actually pretty funny. Some of it was kinda cheesy, but they did an amazing job casting the actors for the roles of Harry & Lloyd. They immitated them pretty darn well and what was truly funny was some of the *jokes* that you would only get from seeing Dumb & Dumber- when we saw some of the things, it reminded us of things that were portrayed in the other movie. SERVING SARA: 8/10 It was funny & cute. Matthew Perry of course did a wonderful job. He still brings on his "Chandler" sarcasm. Not a movie I would buy, really, but it was funny. I really can't wait to see The Whole 10 Yards. |
last film I watched was the Maltese Falcon DVD last night. Far better than most of the drek out there now and in glorious B&W.
And of course it is Bogart's first major starring role, Greenstreet's debut, and Houston's directorial debut as well. === Last one before that was The Third Man - five out of five in my opinion, and it spawned the excellent radio series that also starred George Orson Welles. |
Super Troopers - Excelent movie. One of my favorites
|
Joy Ride...the moral of the story: don't be an asshole. It was pretty good, but I may be biased a bit since I love Steve Zahn :D
|
Old School
I hoped it would be funnier. Vince Vaughn was the only funny guy in the movie. There were certainly a few funny moments, but otherwise I was disappointed. I wished Wil Farrell would have been funnier. That was the big let down. Plus, Jeremy Piven was terribly cast as the dean. Piven should have been one of the frat guys. |
Kill Bill volume 1
it's great, tarantino's best film. Maybe a little long though |
hellboy... 3.8 out of 10...
was disapointed with this movie. i realize it was suppose to be funny... but it was not. it was poorly made & poorly written crap and id like my money back. |
National Lampoons Van Wilder 9/10 - good for comedy purposes only
|
Taking Lives.....8/10 - a really good movie, great suspense, and a suprising ending, so see it if you get the chance...
|
Hellboy .. Complete utter ass.
3/10. (1/10 is a tie between Judge Dredd and Episode 1. 2/10 is Episode 2) |
The Whole Ten Yards....8/10, entertaining and funny.
|
Starsky & Hutch.
pretty funny. love owen wilson and ben stiller. not overly brilliant. but some great moments... the disco scene comes to mind... i'd rate it about 7/10. |
Just saw The Girl Next Door last night. It was actually alot better than i thought, lots of comedy, not to much nudity so it didn't over do it. The plot was kind of like a chick flick but guys can watch it,. its really cool.

I've watched a few recently - all on DVD.
Lost in Translation: 9/10 Once Upon a Time in Mexico: 7/10 Underworld 4/10 LiT was an EXCELLENT movie. But it's probably also one of those that someone would either love or hate based on the reactions I've seen from some. Once Upon a Time in Mexico was great and a nice continuation from Desperado. It was quite rediculous at many points, but it goes into the "legend with embellishments" aspect of the story that it's portraying. All in all it was a fun movie to watch, but no deep message, beyond the importance of freedom. Underworld was....meh. I mean, I guess the action was nice, but the plot inconsistancies were sickening and, while I've seen the love sotry part of it referred to as "underplayed," to me it seemed non-existent. The "love" came out of nowhere with absolutely no impetus other than the director or writer saying "shoot, I guess we need to make them in love now so that the movie works out the way we want it to." REALLY disappointing. Only good thing about it was the action and the fact it involved vampires which is an automatic plus. Too bad the vampires were weak as Hell and didn't really use very much vampire-ness at all. |
Party Monster with Macauley Culkin and Seth Green.
Culkin plays Michael Alig, a 1980's New York party promoter and king of the Club Kids. The movie covers Alig's rise to fame and his drug-addled downfall, which is punctuated by the murder of his friend and drug dealer Angel. Seth Green puts on a surprisingly good performace as Alig's "best friend" James St. James, Alig's 'mentor' in the ways of being a club kid, taching him how to be flamboyant, glamourous and selfish in a classic scene set in a donut shop. The two of them work very well together, especially given the strange dynamic of their relationship (they appear to be using each other for power and status, despite seemingly not really liking each other). The plot starts to fall apart near the end, as though it was getting in the way of showing the decadence (and the consequences of it) of the characters. I give it a 7/10. If you enjoyed movies like 54 or Blow, you'll probably get a kick out of this. |
I went and saw The Ladykillers last night. I thought it was laugh-out-loud funny the entire movie. Hell, I enjoyed it so much that I considered going back to see it tonight. I'll probably try to get back to the theater to see it before it's gone, and will for sure buy it when it comes out on DVD.

I watched Kill Bill Vol 1 on DVD yesterday. At first, I did't really know what to expect so the movie wasn't that good, but after realizing that the movie isn't like Pulp Fiction or Resevior Dogs it got ALOT better. It's a Modern day "out for revenge," bloodbath, Kung Fu Flick, and a really good one. It's hard to compare it to Pulp Fiction, so I'll give it the same rating 9/10.
I watched timeline too, It was THAT DAMN BAD.. 2/10 Paul walker can't act for shit. |
My girlfriend drug me to see "The Prince And Me" starring Julia Stiles. For me, it was aight. I mean, there was nothing about this movie that really took me by surprise. The plot was pretty much a very good interpretation of the common "Boy meets girl" story. Plus the girl becomes a queen and all that crap, and it's just a hugely predictable movie. But my main problem with the movie is that it's so safe. It doesn't break out any story lines or develop many characters outside of the main two.
It wasn't spectacular, but then, it wasn't gawdawful either. 6/10 |
Walking Tall with the Rock and Johnny Knoxville.
4/5 I hate wrestling, but the Rock is so fucking cool. It's great that he finally got acting lessons too. It's all kicking ass, acting cool, and kicking more ass, and then Knoxville is funny. Great action movie, very entertaining! |

I finally got around to seeing Austin Powers: Goldmember, I have
to say, in terms of outright comedy, it was at least an 8, but in terms of originality and it's general 'making fun of old 1960's British movies,' it just doesn't compare to the first one. 8.363/10! |
just watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty on DVD again (1947, Produced by Samuel Goldwyn).
-> Virginia Mayo in one of her first major starring roles, looking lovely as ever; she was 27 at the time, and is still around last I knew. -> Danny Kaye playing at least 5 or 6 completely different roles between the mouse-ish main character and the various dream sequences -> of course the Goldwyn Girls  -> Boris Karloff playing his usual creepy role to perfection -> A good storyline that holds it all together -> not quite so sure about the technicolor, might have been better in B&W but it is a treat seeing extensive shots of 1947 New York City in colour. 9/10 in my opinion |
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: 9.5/10
What an amazing movie this was. I had high expectations for the film because of it's writer (Kaufman who did adaptation and being john malcovich) and one of it's director's (Gondry, who is just amazing with visuals). Jim Carrey proved again how good of an actor he can be. Definitely check out this film if you liked The Truman Show or if you like 'dreamy love films' (a term I just made up ;) ) Also, it kept on reminding me of the feel that Lost in Translation was attempting to give off but failed miserably in doing so, much in my own opinion. I can't wait to see it again! -T |
"Seven Chances" with Buster Keaton 4/5
His timing is great |
Kill Bill Volume 2 - Fuckin' amazing. One of the better movies I've ever seen. I highly recommend that everyone go and see it. 10/10

Hell Boy
7.5/10 Need more action from flame girl, Hell Boy is kinda smaller than I expected, I thought he's like 10ft tall. Need to keep the horns, he looks a lot more bad ass with the horns. More monsters, and make the movie longer!!! Good movie nonetheless  |
Secret Window, completely underated, sure it wasn't entirely original and I saw the twist coming as soon as there was a knock on the door but the film was incredibly enjoyable. Depp never ceases to amaze me with his meticulous performances! Also, the fact that Depp's character was so similar to myself made the story feel more real.
8.5/10 Will be buying the DVD |
I just saw "The Core." It was soo bad! But we knew it would be. We only watched it so that we could make fun of it the same way they did to old movies on Mystery Science Theature 3000. We were laughing at it the whole way through. Definately a good one for making fun of, but I wouldn't watch it any other way.

Cheaper By The Dozen- 10/10
It was actually the first family-oriented move in a LONG time (probably ever) that I absolutely enjoyed. It was hilarious- and I loved all of the little innuendos from Smallville of the oldest son (played by Tom Welling- Clark Kent)...."Farm Boy"......and his red hat...... Very good. It also had that little girl (the trouble-maker) who dances in the Missy Elliot videos- she's intense! |
kill bill vol.1 4/10
story was ok. dialougue was good. but the overall extreme violence, didn't do a thing for me. maybe i am getting old. |

Man On Fire
8 out of 10. Another bad guy role for Denzel, and he pulls it off with conviction. |
Kill Bill (both volumes together)
9.5/10 - fucking great movie....that's all I have to say |
Kill Bill Vol. 2. I just saw it in the theater. I saw Vol. 1 when it was in theater. It was a good end to a great movie. I would rather have had them released as one long 5 hour movie but it was good the way it ended up. Vol. 2 could have been a little bloodier but the story and character development was better than Vol. 1.
Vol. 1: 5 out of 5 Vol. 2: 4 out of 5 Both as one movie: 6 out of 5. (I know, it doesn’t seem possible) |
Loving Liza- 6.5/10
About a guy whose wife dies and he gains an addicting to smelling gas. Extremely weird, I am a movie lover and it was hard to sit throught but still was interesting at the same time |
Well a bunch of movies
Supertroopers - excellent hilarious movie...lots of laughs 9/10 The Girl Next Door - for a guy, it was a damn funny movie 10/10 Van Wilder - another hilarious movie...."P.S. Shut the fuck up" 10/10 Hellboy - utter disapointment, way too long, boring. Pathetic attempt at an enjoyable movie 0/10 |
House of Sand and Fog
Story and acting was great (although it isn't the happiest story) I think the book was better |
The Magdalene Sisters excellent film 4/5
