Movies you wish they hadn't made
 

I wish they hadn't made "the Truman Show".

Why ?
Becasue they screwed up what could have been an absolutly brilliant movie and now noone is going to try it lest they be called copycat.

The pitch was fantastic. Boy in the Bubble overtones. It could have been a dark and bleak endictment of society instead of the half assed "oh look we like TV too much aren't we all bad as a society " crap thay gave us.

It could have been a telling deconstruction of the human physhe and how someone copes when the world they knew literally crumbles around them .

Dammit they could even have made a good comedy with this kind of material.

I would love to direct the Truman Show the way it should have been made.

Actually a pretty great movie but I wish more had been made of the Mind Fuck device (you have to have seen it to know what Im taking about there)

american werewolf in paris- makes people not want to see he original
scarface- i hate this movie and i believe that it started the al pacino overacting period he is still in today. i want pacino from back when he was in dog day afternoon and godfather.

Episode I: It was an okay movie...but it could've been better. If I could fix it, I'd take out Jar Jar and make it so C-3P0 wasn't built by Anakin but repaired by him. That's my gripe...

any of the four sequels of from dusk till dawn.
the first one was a great tounge-in-cheek horror film, the others are just shit.

Bulworth ... The previews made it look like a comedy, but they ended up saying fuck every other word and had a terrible plot IMO.

the Casablanca remake from the early/mid 80's was a travesty that should have never been made.
Also the Lone Ranger film from 1982/3? or so that completely ignored the proper canon as established during the radio show years.

Jurassic Park 3

Well, this thread is kind of tricky because all of the movies I wish they hadn't made I actually wish they DID make GOOD. I wanted Terminator 3 to be good, so I suppose I wish they didn't make it even though I did want a good one. Same with the Star Wars prequels (Episode 1 wasn't too bad; Episode 2 was horrid), the Dungeons and Dragons movie, and the Final Fantasy movie.

I refer to JP3 as JP2.5. The movie was so freaking short.

I wish they hadn't made any of the teenage slasher flicks after the original Scream. talk about beating a genre to death.

Alien 4

One of the only movies that has ever made me cry. If they make an Alien 5 and Ripley's in it god help the people responsible. As far as I'm concerned there is only one story worth telling in the Alien series. And it would be titled Hadley's Hope. Nuff said. Screw AvP.

There was a Casablanca remake???? Why God WHY??? Anyone who was contected to this should be shot.

And I've heard Ben and Jen want to do another remake of it. :eek:

By the way, Episode I was really good.

Any and every Olsen Twins movie. I'd have more fun watching them act like lemmings and fall off a cliff.
