Psycho, when Norman swings that shovel and then that twang as it hits
|
Okay that's it. I'm just gonna say it. The Raymond K. Hessel scene on fight club. That is my favorite scene of all time in my favorite movie of all time. I love watching that over and over and over again.
|
Maybe not one of my favorites, but made me laugh pretty hard, in the South Park movie, when Terrance & Philip are on Conan O'Brien. Brooke Shields is also a guest, and says "one time I farted on the set of Blue Lagoon." There is a few seconds of silence, then either Terrance or Philip slaps her across the face.
"Raging Bull" when DeNiro's wife is sick of him always accusing her of cheating on him, so she says she sucked DeNiro's brother (Joe Pesci)'s dick. He gets pissed off and goes to his brother's house, where his brother is eating with his family, and kicks his ass. |
the shadow fight in kill bill

25th Hour "Fuck you" Rant. I dont why, but I just love it.

Ronin - The chase scenes just blew my mind
Apocalypse Now, Saving Private Ryan and HEAT get my props for the greatest scenes EVER! Also Pulp Fiction kicked ass, I never expected the cop and the shopkeeper, to... well you know ;) Oh yeah, what is the Raymond K. Hessel scene? |

I also like the torture scene from Braveheart, the whole last half of The Matrix, the freeway chase from the Matrix Reloaded, and several scenes in The Pianist--when he jumps the wall to see a decimated Warsaw or when he plays for the German. |
The final shootout in The Good , The Bad, and The Ugly
absolutely cool- and a classic |
The opening scene in the Rundown when the Rock beat up the whole offensive lineman in the club.
|
Shawshank Redemption: When Andy makes his escape, tears his shirt off, looks up in the sky, and cries in joy as rain falls on him.
Apollo 13: the "Failure is not an option" pep talk given by Gene Krantz (Ed Harris) Monsters Inc: the end scene Oceans 11: the entire sequence with Clair de Lune playing in the background Matrix: the part where Neo and Morpheus are walking through a crowded city sidewalk, lady in the red dress, everything freezes. |
I'm not left handed either! - Princess Bride
|
Freddy vs Jason final fight....talk about a bloodfest.
|
Wow... this is an old thread!
I'll add another couple to the list, seeing as I started the thread. The final scene in Casablanca. The attack upon the jungle mission in The Mission. Mr Mephisto |
Heh I saw it when I was doing a search for "Bladerunner" and didn't even notice how old it was. It looks to be a decent thread though.
|
I don't know if it's my favorite ever, but I downloaded "Boiler Room" just to watch the scene where Affleck makes his speech to the newbies.
Last scene of "Scarface" is pretty good. |
Gladiator: When Maximus stabs the emperor in the final battle
Bourne Identity: The scene in which he kills the 2nd agent in the middle of the field. Bourne Supremacy: Car chase scene towards the end Dogma: when Damon takes out all the executives....but one |
i really like the deleted scene in kill bill 2. "You killed my master Damoe!"
|
Troy, the first fight with the little guy and the huge guy, sword in the neck, you know what I am talking about, I don't want to give it away to anyone that hasn't seen it yet as its pretty new
|
Heat - The big fight scene
Ronin - Car chases (both of them) Braveheart - The end when he's being tortured To End All Wars - When they crucified that guy :( Blackhawk Down - When the are trying to find the vein that's bleeding in the soldiers leg Lord Of the Rings - Lots of different parts Gladiator - The part when the Emperor depends to know who the Gladiator is and at the end when the Gladiator kills the Emperor. Bourne Identity - The fight scene in his house We Were Soldiers - Lots of parts from this. Full Metal Jacket - Anything with the drill sergeant in :) Platoon - The ending when that mean sergeant gets his arsed kicked Can you tell I like my war movies :) (plenty more but off the top of my head cant think of them) |
A couple of my favorites:
The final battle in Saving Private Ryan is so well done and so intense. In The Thin Red Line when Jim Caviesel's character leads the Japanese company through the jungle away from his platoon, then gets surrounded and shot. Very moving. |
The ending scene of "The Usual Suspects".
|
My favorite is the scene from John Carpenter's The Thing where the upside down head with crab legs scuttles into view and the man says, "You got to be fucking kidding"
|
Unforgiven: The scene where the whore tell him Ned's been killed but Little Bill, and he then takes a drink.
My #2 scene would be a short while later when he walks in to the bar to kill Little Bill: 'Yeah, I've killed women & children. I've killed just about everything that walked or crawled at one time or another. And now I'm gonna kill you Little Bill.' Scary scary! |
There are a couple for me.
Henry and June: Where June and Anais are dancing, and June tells her: "I've the the foulest things, the vilest things, but I've done them superbly." Waiting for Guffman: When Corky goes off on the city council. "You're just bastard people," and "I'm gonna go home and bite my pillow." Rope: The entire movie done as one cut; it's one of my favorites. Breakfast at Tiffany's: The day they spend doing things they've never done before. Saving Private Ryan: At the end, when the present day Ryan tells his wife: "Tell me I'm a good man..." Man, that gets me weepy every time. Amelie: Finding out who the photobooth mystery man is. |
begining of the original American Pie...American Beauty where he opens her shirt...and any scene in Rain Man

A BRONX TALE
A bunch of bikers refuse to leave Chazz Palminterri's bar when he asks them to leave for being rude. Chazz calmly walks to the entrance door and locks it, locking everyone inside. Then he turns to the group of bikers, all by himself, and says "Now yous CAN'T leave." The look on the biker's faces is pure terror. They suddenly realize that this guy is a huge badass and has way more balls than they do. |
Goodfellas: where they are all playing poker and Pesci starts making fun of Spider (the slave/server) and Spider says, "Go fuck yourself."
To which Deniro and Liotta start razzing Pesci, then Pesci blows Spider away. Deniro gets all pissy and tells Pesci it's his problem. To which Pesci says, "It ain't like I never dug a hole before..." Annie Hall: Woody and Annie (Diane Keaton) are walking down the street talking about why she needs to smoke pot before sex and Woody starts asking people passing by the street. Old Couple in reply: we use a vibrating egg. |
Gunnery Sgt. Hartman making fun of the men in Full Metal Jacket. Some of my favorite quotes come from that scene, i.e. "I didn't know they stacked shit that high" and "grabasstic pieces of amphibian shit"
|
carlito's way -- shoot-out in grand central. if you havent seen it, go rent it. its unreal.

One of my fav scenes is when he waits for Matilda (Portman) in the toilets of his DEA building when she follows him with a big bag of take-out food filled with guns intending to kill him. Naturally, he is too smart for her and knows he's being followed. She is walking towards the end of the stalls (the last door is closed), but suddenly the door to the toilets slams shut revealing him standing behind the door. She almosts jumps out of her skin and then realises how much trouble she really is in. He tries to guess the contents of the bag ("...Thai maybe? I got it! Italian food!"). He then questions her about the "chef" who prepared the food, and finds out it was just her who had come to kill him. Classic line: "What piece of filthy shit did I do know?" |
plains, trains and automobiles - when the cop asks john candy if his car is safe to drive
|
Big Lebowski, "No hostage, no money, those are the fucking RULES!!"
Clockwork Orange. "Singing in the Rain" Blade Runner, the "Time to Die", and, just because it's one of the greatest lines ever "It's too bad she wont' live, but then again, who does?" |
Se7en - The Scene in the Desert
Goodfellas - The Scene where Henry is being followed by the helicopter Pulp Fiction - The Scene in the Basement of the Pawn Shop Pulp Fiction - The Scene where Jules is reciting the bible before killing a man Pulp Fiction - The Scene where Vincent Vega accidently shot that kid in the head when they hit a bump in the road. Bonnie and Clyde - Any scene Saving Private Ryan - The opening scene at Omaha beach. Requiem for a Dream - Any scene Heat - Any scene Snatch - Any scene Swordfish - The scene with the hostage, the bomb vest, the ball bearings, and the sweet 360 degree explosion. Goodfellas - The scene at the bar where some guy is busting Pesci's balls in front of his lady friend, where he later comes back and beats the shit out of him. Reservoir Dogs - The scene with the cop held hostage, and Vic Vega aka Mr. Blonde cuts off his ear Reservoir Dogs - The scene where Tarantino (Mr. Brown) is saying what "Like a Virgin" by Madonna is about. jupiter mission and beyond the infinite, from 2001 space odysey
american psycho: when he drags the body to a taxi cab and that guy asks "where did you get that overnight bag?", "John-paul gotiay", or however u spell it. get shorty: dennis farina in the limo, the limo driver says, "you know, they say the fog is the reason we have such beautiful sunsets", "well who the fuck wants to see em". Snatch: dennis farina hangs up the phone and flys to england, and says sit down you big bald fuck or something , the scene is all of 5 or 6 seconds. zoolander: too many to mention. fear and loathing in las vegas: oh my god, way too many to mention. |
Anything from "Pulp Fiction".
Richard Dreyfus and his son in " Mr. Hollands Opus". When Michael Caine canes, no pun intended, Steve Martin in "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". Tiger in jungle in "Appocolypse Now". Anything with Jon Favro and Vince Vaughn. Well, if I have to I have to , toilet scene in "Dumb and Dumber". Car burning in "Trains, Planes and Automobiles". Bar scenes in "Mean Streets" Robert Deniro , "you talking to me" , in "Taxi Driver". Joe Pesci, "I amuse you", in "Goodfellows" Willem Defoe in "Wild at Heart". "In Dreams" scene in "Blue Velvet" That's just a few. How about somebody starting a thread about the hardest scenes to make yourself watch, like : Choosing which child to save in "Sophie's Choice". Russian roulette in "The Deer Hunter" Cutting off ear in "Reservoir Dogs" Shower chainsaw in "Scarface" |
Dumb and Dumber - The scene where Jim Carrey hits Jeff Daniels in the back of the legs with his cane. Oh so damn funny...
A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) - The Dr. Know scene! From Dusk Til' Dawn - The Salma Hayek stripper scene. Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back - The Salma Hayek stripper scene  |
Favourite scene
Swordfish: When John Travolta pulls out his M-60 from the back of his car and starts shooting. GREAT!

It's a toss up. |
Oh, I thought of another couple of scenes:
Goodfellas: I can't believe no one mentioned the "Layla" scene after Morty gets killed. Great camera, great music, excellent scene. Oh, the scene when Henry first takes Karen on a date, and they enter the restaurant from the service entrance; one continuous shot. Tombstone: The river battle scene. You know, when Wyatt is down by the creek, walking on water. Hackers: The wholly improbable "flying through a database" scenes. They're just used as transition shots, but they make me grin everytime. Ghost in the Shell: The scene in the museum (or whatever) when Bateau stops the tank and rescues the Major. I'm sure there are more, but those are the major ones that come to mind right now. |
