There might be a "Predator 3"...

A few years back rumours circulated that action maestro Robert Rodriguez was set to make a “Predator 3”. Nothing ever eventuated of it. But now, with “Aliens vs. Predator” around the corner, there’s just got to be interest? Possibly. A booming script has indeed been written. Just one thing: the studio hasn’t snapped it up yet.

Chances are no one’s going to greenlight a stand-alone “Predator” film before they see how well “Aliens vs. Predator” does – but Screenwriter Sam Park is confident they will, because the script the studio once considered using, “Predator 3 : The deadlier of the species” is still on his i-mac.

Park explains, “It's one of my favorite sci-fi action films. Some films are great for certain parts. This is a film that works terrifically as a whole and then some. Joel Silver's deft producing and John McTiernan's sure hand at directing came together at the perfect time to realize Jim and John Thomas's suspenseful, smart and witty action script. Arnold. He was born to play Dutch. Somehow the planets aligned, mystic forces gathered and "Predator" dropped into theaters in 1987 causing everything you knew about action and science fiction movies to change.

This was another attempt on our part to do something the fans would love and even the larger film audiences would embrace as familiar but with a new and exciting spin on the concept. [Joel Silver’s assistant, Reggie Hunter] did his part and got this treatment into [Joel] Silver who told him it was great but...he no longer was working with Fox on this franchise (now strictly a Warner Brothers team player) and so, nothing came of it.

According to Park though….there might be some interest in it now.

I checked out the storyline treatment for the film and I must say, it isn’t too bad at all. If anything, it’s great to see Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dutch back in the mix. It’s very loyal to the first film sit in the Jungle again, and sounds like it could be a perfect vehicle for Arnie. Lots of double crossing, Arnie vs Predator fights again, and trivial origins stuff.

Says Park, “Dutch is back. He turns his back on love to track down the traitor who
wiped out his elite squad of soldiers. Two years later it's Dutch who
is being secretly stalked by a Predator with a mysterious agenda until
it learns that Dutch holds something more dear to him than life. This
sends the Predator into its own private hell during the worst snowstorm
in New York's recorded history to find Dutch's heart...and rip it out.”

I don't think Arnold would do it unless he got paid more then he did for T3. He is definitly still in shape for it, but he seems to be more focused on politics now.

Arnold hasn't the time to do a Predator 3 but I'd love to see him back.

p.s. I won't see this film if someone else plays Dutch, it's just not right.

Only way this is going to happen is if Arnie loses the election. If he wins, there will be no way he will have the time to make that movie.

And if he wins, you can bet he's going to be under close watch by the media and others to analyze and discuss his every move.

Its about time we saw AvP. Im more excited about that than Predator 3. Im afriad that AvP will suck like the last couple aliens movies.

The Rock or Vin Diesel are names that'll get mentioned, not because it's possible but because the media are trying to make them the new Arnold's which quite frankly will NEVER FUCKING HAPPEN. Arnold is irreplacable, Arnold is King.

^^ Where the fuck have you been? Heh Danny Glover was in the second one and it was pretty good. It took place in the City that time. Manhattan I believe. I didn't even know they were gonna make Alien Vs Predator. I loved the freakin game I'm PSYCHED they're gonna make it into a movie. I can't wait for this now. Anyone have a link to a trailor or some shit? I'd love to see Predator 3 but if Arnold don't do it then it won't be worth it. Especially if they replace him with a horrible actor like The Rock or Vin Diesle. So who do you think would win between Alien and Predator? I believe in the Comics the Predator's were the superior race and at the ending of the 2nd movie you see what looks to be an Alien skull among the other trophies on the predators ship. They certainly have the technology, the aliens had some good arsenal though, includin the acid spit and blood. Be a damn good one. I'd like to see them go more into the origins of the 2 species ya know? Especially The Predator cause in the first movie he just kinda shows up....they don't give any kind of background information on the alien race, where they reside, how long they've been around, other planets they've conquered, etc. I doubt they will though. Most movies tend to ignore that sort of thing and it's like...okay same thing as the first but more blood and explosions! Hope I'm not dissappointed.

AvP was a comic/graphics novel before it was a game.

What I'm not sure on is which came first - the comic or the alien skulls in ship in Predator 2.

AvP - thats definitely a movie that needs to be made.

Well in the second movie he hands Glover what I think was a gun dating back to civil war times or earlier so we know they've been around that long. I'm pretty sure the movie came first but I dunno it mighta been a comic or a book that they got the idea from.
