What are some the worst TV shows still on the air?
I am continually amazed at the amount of crap that TV networks continue to produce and air on television each year.
If you were given an opportunity to immediately cancel 5 shows that is still on the air, which would they be? My Top 5 Top: 1. Friends 2. The Simpsons 3. Everybody Loves Raymond 4. WWE (The entire product line) 5. Anything on ABC (Even Fox has better shows) Last edited by HeyAgain; 04-25-2003 at 11:31 PM.. |

How about Scooby Doo? How long can they keep a dog with an annoying voice and his trusty gang fresh? Out with very old in with the new. I'd settle for Exo-squad or at the very least Phantom 2040 but most of you don't know what I'm talking about anyway.

I like most of these show but the only one that I still watch all the time is the Simpsons...I'll have to admit I don't like the new Scooby doo cartoons....the old ones are pretty cool but I don't really watch anymore....
Shows that I'm surprised aren't cancelled 1. 24- I just find it annoying. I couldn't even sit through one episode...and besides if you miss the other episodes you have no clue WTF is going on.. 2. The Pitts- It was stupid even for a stupid parody show.... 3. Andromeda- If I want to watch a good show about space travel I watch Star Trek 4. Most copycat shows...every station has a copy of some reality show. 5. I'll have to agree w/ kgb. Good Morning Miami isn't very good...I've watched it then waited a couple weeks and watched it again and it seems to me that every episode is exactly the same...He loves her but can't tell her because he's such a good guy and the other girl likes him but treats him like crap to show him....ughhhh irritating...They could have just made one episode and ran it once a week...It be the same outcome.

Okay.....Television shows I'd like to get rid of....
1- Survivor (It's been done.....over and over and over) 2- Friends (It's the same show every week. I expect the series finale to be Ross sleeping with Joey, cause they've tried every other combination) 3- Fear Factor (Eating stewed goat testicles was never a fear of mine. Gross, but hardly a fear) 4- Any sitcom on ABC where a has been movie star is now the single dad of not one, but two teenage girls. (Sorry, Mr. Ritter Sorry, guy from City Slickers) 5- Any show on Fox other than John Doe and The Simpsons. (unadulterated crap; joe millionaire; mr. personality;taiwaneese midget wrestling super stars vs. beast) If I had one more bullet I'd kill any show with Carson Daly because he's such a tool.

Jerry Springer, it went off for a while but it's back. I have the TV on half-watching cartoons (yes its true hehe) while on the computer and right after they are over Jerry Springer comes on to annoy the heck out of me.
I also have to agree with most everyone else in that reality TV shows shouldn't have ever seen the light of day.

My list:
1. The Pitts- How pathetic, I can't beileve they expect people to watch this! 2. Survivor- Enough Already. 3. Fastlane- don't get me wrong I love cars especially classics and exotics and good cop detective shows but this is way too dramatic and to many pivoting camera's, it think that they went way to far with the effects and it sometimes makes me dizzy. 4. Oliver Bean- This is a wanna be great show that is not funny because the actors in it are horrible at making jokes. 5. Reality T.V.- How about we stop ruining peoples lives for entertainment, geez and especially American Idol that show for some reason really makes me mad. |

Road Rules - whiny, shallow assholes who cry more than all the emo kids in the world put together...in an RV. 3. Survivor - seriously, didn't we say all we needed with the first one? People are naturally conniving dickheads when put on an island, I get it. 4. Will and Grace - No homophobia here, I just never figured out why the show is supposedly so fucking hilarious. 5. American Idol - The show that managed to bring Paula Abdul back from the dead. Don't we naturally have enough manufactured, shitty music without having to have a show that produces it?

1. Any anime cartoon. It's just not my style. (Major offenders on the Cartoon Channel include Pokemon and Yugi-Oh. Why is anime always on when I turn on that channel? Oh well. I will spare everyone my rant on anime.)
2. Friends. They need to kill this show while most people still have some good memories about it. At least Seinfeld knew when to quit, Friends needs to quit too. 3. Judge Judy. This show is always on when I get home from work. I despise Judge Judy. She is a mean, spiteful person who believes that she has supreme knowledge in every subject. She treats the people in court like kids and ... well, she's just a jackass in general. 4. The Crocodile Hunter. The only episode I would ever watch of this in the future is the one when Steve Irwin is finally killed by an animal. The man lives to taunt nature, and for some reason he continues to live. The show isn't interesting when every episode has the same premise: Man + wrestling + animals = ratings. 5. The Flintstones. There are too many reasons to list why this cartoon should never be shown again. I can see how it was probably okay in the 70's, but 30 years later this cartoon has nothing to offer that wouldn't be easily reached by eating moldy cheese followed by a shooter of drano. |

1. Every reality TV show ever made and everyone that will be made.
2. WWE (Old school was cool, this just sucks) 3. Ripping Friends 4. Real World/Road Rules (I won't start on how much I hate those shows) 5. Judge Judy (or any court TV show, I've been in court, I don't want to watch it for fun) |

Fear Factor: The stuff they do is either really gross (in my opinion, not eating a horse intestine has nothing to do with fear...) or fun looking. I don't get the whole "fear" thing (but then, hight has never really bothered me much )
Cribs: Yeah... please find some rich celebrity and have them show off their house and posessions. That sounds like a very good show to me... Married By America (or any similar show): I think there's enough problems with marriages these days without making it a form of entertainment. American Idol: As if we didn't have enough crappy pop music already... Any and all "Reality" shows: Just another appeal to american voyeurism.. and they aren't even semi-original anymore, either...

Keep the Simpsons! They still have their good episodes and is a lot better than most of the other crap on TV.
Survivor, Real World/Road Rules, American Idol and all those other reality tv shows. Especially those marriage shows that Fox just keeps making. They have a new one every month. |

Excluding "reality TV" which I won't include since everyone here apparently wants it cancelled (smart people here), here is my 5:
1. Friends: I wish the monkey would give every character ebola on that show 2. Will and Grace: Absolutely not funny. 3. Everybody Loves Raymond: Overrated 4. The Sopranos: See #3 5. Fox News: The only thing fair and balanced about Fox News might be Murdoch's checkbook. |

For my list: 1. The WB - everything on the entire station must be stopped, for the good of humanity. 2. MTV - see reason #1, then make them go back to good music. 3. All home shopping networks - for some reason we have approximately 400 of these on the campus cable network. There is no need for anywhere near that many channels of crazy people hawking their cheesy wares. 4. ABC - see reason #1. Everything on the entire station has been crap for years. 5. All reality TV of any kind on any channel. If you want to experience reality, go outside and do something with your lives.

Geez. A lot of people here really hate reality shows (me being one of them). Who actually watches these shows anyways? Someone must, otherwise they wouldn't be showing them.
Anyway, if I had my five bullets, as guthmund succinctly put it, I would firmly lodge all five of them in "Everybody Loves Raymond", if only to make sure it was dead. That show is just the same episode every freaking time. Oh, look at me. I'm a dorky middle-aged father of three, with a gorgeous wife and a house full of kids. Oops. For the billionth episode in a row, I did something stupid to piss my wife off. But don't worry. After my obnoxious parents and even dorkier brother finish intruding on every aspect of my life, I'll make some flimsy, half-assed attempt to make up with with my wife, and inevitably, she'll come running back to my waiting arms, and the TV audience will go "Awwwwww". It's the same typical, happy freaking story book ending every time.

Another friend has directly suggested that I try Evangelion. However, I find that there is something altogether creepy about the anime that I've seen. I can't properly put it into words. Despite my objections, I will probably watch Evangelion at some point and I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I definitely should have just listed Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh as the offenders. (Pokemon alone is shown 8 times a week on that channel!) |

The world would be a better place without any of those stupid reality shows, all the day time talk shows (Springer, etc), every daytime soap opera made and oh please someone get rid of Wheel of Fortune.
