Opus!
This may be old news to some, but the creator of Bloom County and Outland, Berke Breathed, is starting a new Sunday newspaper comic called Opus. Bloom county is my alltime favorite. I am looking forward to Opus.
|
Will begin Noverber 23, in the Washington Post
|
I hope it will be available online!
|
I can't wait!!!
|
Why did Breathed retire Bloom County in the first place? It seems like he keeps doing the same thing over and over.
|
I only pray that it measures up to Bloom County; I couldn't stand Outland.
It probably won't be in most newspapers, because he is requiring a full half-page space. My cheezy local paper fits about six unreadable comics in a space that big. |
I think Breathed quit Bloom County because he felt like he was in a rut. Outland started out with Opus as the only original BC character, but then added more old characters. Actually, since Bloom County, Far Side, and Calvin and hobbs left the funny pages, the rest pretty much suck ass. Well, Dilbert is still good. But Dilbert is all I read now. Opus, even if we have to get it every Sunday on the net, will be great, I hope.

Let's just say that I'm looking forward to seeing what Opus is now up to - although I wouldn't mind seeing Bill the Cat, too! |

Anyone read shermans lagoon? It has some potential. Get fuzzy would be funny, but it seems like the same thing day after day.

OPUS RETURNS
Not a joke, but this has to go in the humor section
http://www.berkeleybreathed.com/opus_returns.html For anyone who has read this, well, its the best comic strip ever. (<--- period) |
Wahoo!
I've missed Bloom County terribly. Sure hopes it turns out as good as it used to be, whatever form it may take. |

How'd you like it? I thought it was pretty funny.

IT was very good [my wife had to read it twice to really get it so it was RIGHT ON!!]
ACK!! |
My local paper doesn't carry anything remotely cool, so I didn't read it. I've searched blogs and Kazaa, and can't find a copy of the thing.
* pouting * |
Yea. I doubt I'll get to read it unless it gets online somehow.
I do miss Bloom County. I have a couple of the Books, and they still get a chuckle out of me, even after reading them more than 15 or 20 times. |
