Bruce Campbell: opnions?
 

I believe he is more entertaining then watching handicapped kids fall down. To me he makes every movie he is in.

Anyway he has a following that closely resembles some religions in size and devotion. So what does everyone here on the forum think of him??

I always liked him, especially in Army of Darkness. Jack of all trades was ok, but it was no Hercules.

He's been my Av for quite a while now, AoD is one of my all time fav movies.

I have been a fan of Bruce ever since I saw Evil Dead 2. I love his cameos in Raimi's films, and all of his TV appearances. Hell, I even watched Serving Sara because of him.

Bruce Campbell is the man. No one else could have acted so well in the Evil Dead movies. His whole demeanor on screen is just engulfing. He's awesome.

gotta love em- he appeals to the elvis loving everyman in us all- plus, who wouldnt wanna blast zombies with a shotgun and carve em up w/ a chainsaw....

He is great in the Evil Dead movies, which if anyone hasn't seen go and watch them NOW.

Don't forget his excellent stint on Xena (him and S Raimi's bro are the only good points about the series, though), and the wonderful Brisco County Jr. They need to get that series out on dvd, damnit. If Chins Could Kill is an excellent read, and any fan of Campbells should pick up a copy.

If chins could kill was an awesome book, I recently moved to Seattle, but when I was living in Oregon, He lived in the same town as me and I saw him around town a lot. He doesn't quite look the same, he seems a lot ummm "nerdier" in real life, but when he speaks u know its him.

I don't need to say any more than that. :)

BTW... I saw Bubba Hotep at the Toronto Film Festival (last year?) and it was fucking awesome.

Bruce is the God of the B-Movie actor.

Personally I think he's probably one of the better physical comedians in a while, who can forget his fight against his possessed hand in Evil Dead 2?

I loved Jack Of All Trades...I can't count how many hate e-mails I sent to the network when I found out that it got cancelled.

i know this will sound ridiculous, but i was given a copy of the book if chins could kill, and i had no idea who he was. i read the book and realized i had sort of seen him around, but i didnt really know him. the book is a good read, he seems like a real down to earth guy, not pretentious, and happy with a b movie career.

I love seeing him in random things, like The Hudsucker Proxy (having a loose connection with the Coens) and starring in terrible SciFi channel movies and so on. He is the everyman!

Yea Brisco Country Jr was a pretty sweet show. It always seems the good shows get canceled.Another one would be Jack of all Trades. He was cool on Xena to or was he on Hercules? I forget. :< I agree he is a fun actor to watch.

Fraid I only have praise for this B-movie genius... I really wish he moved on to the "A-movies", as I would happily see him replace some of the better known stars today. Though maybe a lot of his appeal is his b-movie status... Whatever... Just as long as he is still working and sharing some of his unique humor with us, I will be happy.

Best Hero Evar, he is by far the best quotable action star.

Terriffic comedic actor. I got a chance to speak with him about a year ago and enjoyed it fully.

Amen to that. Bruce Cambell's humor is believable and just so great. And lots of people that have met him in person have said he is a really great guy.

I'm impressed as well, no one out there has tried to dethrone the king... and I was really looking forward to raging on someone :) O and I saw Bubba, its no AoD but you will now think of Bruce as Elvis he owns the role better then any other actor who has attempted

Just kidding, all. I totally agree with all of you. Bruce is an awesome force in the universe.
One of my favorite parts of AoD is the opening credits: Bruce Campbell vs. Army of Darkness. Just having the vs. in there. A very small detail, but it stands out, just like Bruce stands out in everything he does.
