Unpopular Movie Opinions
You know that movie that everyone just keeps raving about and you just can't understand why? How about your favorite that everyone keeps badmouthing? Tell us about it here. This thread was inspired in part by Fire's Equilibrium thread, but mostly I saw this same thread on another forum and it got some pretty interesting responses.
Here we go: The 25th Hour was a good movie, but the mirror monologue was stupid. The Boondock Saints was fun, but the characters were terrible; especially Agent Smecker and Detective Greenly. Maybe it was just a terrible script. Josie and the Pussycats is hilarious. I need to buy that movie. Blade is by far the best movie to come from a Marvel comic book. Robert DeNiro is great in comedies. Last edited by Batman976; 09-23-2003 at 12:08 AM.. |

But do you have the balls to say that The Godfather is the worst movie ever made?

Haha, I thought about that thread too when I made this one. I figured this one would encompass more than that one did. Unpopular opinions don't always have to be negative.

I thought 'Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas' was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
-Blade is a good movie!

HAHA, some how it came up with my friends that we all liked "bring it on" I am amused that so many people agree. Clah of the titans was a fine film as well. I heard there are plans to remake it too. I hope I don't read about anyone dis-ing AoD
On that note, I would like to say that Star Wars, yes Star Wars is the most over-rated movie series. I am aware that this will be the death of me

Lets see...I remember seeing "As Good as it Gets" and thinking, that really wasn't all that good. Just my opinion. "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" wasn't even remotely funny to me. I really liked "Original Sin" even though everyone else seems to think that it sucked. Heh. Those are the first ones that come to mind.

I really hated Boondock Saints. Thats some of the worst acting in film history,i.e. Pappa Joe and the brother's friend with the stupid jokes and the one word vocabulary. Is the fact that the word "fuck" is said so many times supposed to make it "hip" or something?
Punch Drunk Love I liked it alot. It really was a different side to Adam Sandler and I liked it.

Goodfellas. i dunno, people say it's brilliant, but i don't see it. the first half is cool, gangster stories, lotsa stuff, but the second half was just Ray Liotta and his family turned into a bunch of sickened druggies. i understand that it came from a book and all...i dunno, just seemed weird and left me feeling uneasy.

Boondock Saints: excellent style, shitty peripheral characters. I know, fellows, let's remind the audience that the detective is gay by making him pull a flamboyant stunt every twenty minutes, then dress up as a WOMAN and KICKING ASS! Woo!
To its credit, the psychology of the two brothers was really well done. To its discredit, you are not allowed to not give your film an ending. Maybe the scriptwriters missed that memo. |

Not cool dude..not cool at all. He was a criminal that turned good at the end, that realized the error in his ways, it was a transition. -_-. Though, to each his own, no hard feelings. |

What does bad acting have to do with the transitional phase of a character? What transistional phase did Pappa Joe undergo? Pappa Joe's acting of an Italian Don was terrible. The director must have owed this guy money to let him in the movie. Though to each his own, like you said.

1. Josie and the Pussycats was great! Buncha hot chicks runnin around in cat costumes playin' music
2. THE FUCKING RULES OF ATTRACTION!! I bitched about this just before the death of TFP 3.0, and still refuse to give it another chance. I saw absolutely no plot in this film, and most of the storylines had no correlation to one another. 3. Ghosts of Mars. I love hokey, violent films, featuring space zombies.

I thought HULK was an incredible disaster. Oh man, if it weren't for Jennifer Connely, I would have walked out with or without my friends.
