overrated.
oliver stone ridley scott stanley kubrick terry gillliam all of these guys have made great films but they are hit and miss in my eyes and not all of their films are great like their fans seem to think(my opinion) favs David Lean-Bridge over the River Kwai just rocks. Akira Kurosawa-the man's works were so great they made his sammuri flicks into spagetti westerns Sergio Leone-made kurosawa's flicks into westerns and made them his own stories. David Fincher-Fight Club was one of my fav 90s flicks and Se7en was one of the last really suspensful flicks I ever saw. Quentin Tarentino-Hated Kill Bill but Pulp Fiction is a masterpiece! Alfred Hitchcock-love his camera angles and buildup of suspense Sam Raimi-ditto as hitchcock weirdly enough Luc Besson-the professional is my fav action movie Charles Laughton-only did night of the hunter but what a film David Lynch-if for nothing else the straight story and twin peaks Coen Bros-I was hesitant to put this one up since I think i like their writing more but Blood Simple and O'Brother were beautiful to look at. John Carpenter-as of late his films suck but Escape from New york,The Thing,They Live and Halloween are great films. |
