Tarkin in Episode III, CONFIRMED! Pics inside!
http://www.theforce.net/episode3/
Tarkin is back! Awesome news, things are lookin' bright for Episode III! The original Tarkin (Peter Cushing) and this guy are nearly indistinguishable! http://theforce.net//episode3/newspi...in_compare.jpg Coooool. (Mods: Feel free to merge this thread is need be) ***EDIT: Some mo' info*** http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=16132 http://www.aintitcool.com/image/tarkins.jpg |
Good gravy! That's uncanny!
You go, Grand Muff Tarkin! ;) Thanks, Mr.Deflock. |
I'll never understand why people can never spell my screenname correctly :(
|
omg
thats some fine casting. Mr.Deflok, since i´ve spelt your name correctly, can you fill me in on whatever happened to this character? is he the one who Vader kills for failing him for the last time? |
Wow, is that CG or an actual actor? Episode III keeps looking better and better...
"Evacuate? In out moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances!" - Tarkin of course |

He dies when the Death Star blows up. I think this is right... I am sure someone will politely disagree if I'm not :D ~smeesh |
Wow, that's almost eerie. Very cool.

I think I read that the actor basically has a really good Peter Cushing mask on.
|
WOW!!!
The resemblance is unnerving! I'm very very pleased that Lucas is tying up any loose ends between episodes 3 and 4. I wonder is we'll see a pregnant Amidala as well. (Yes, I am getting excited...) |

man...natalie portman in the metal bikini get up would be awesome...but yeah, that picture is weird. they look alike...it's just...creepy.
|
Damn, I'm im pressed by the resemblance. And I'm very glad he's in the movie.

aww come on, shouldn't there be a little something for the "preggo" lovers out there too? :p  just kidding! Anyhoo, this is looking really cool. In addition to the hairstyle of Anakin in that other thread it looks like they're making a real effort to make it fit with episode 4 stylistically. :) |

I have no excuse, because it happens to me, too, and I try to not do it myself. (Freman <---is one.) I will do better anon. :) |

I'm not a big fan of the new episodes but that guy does look uncanny. It has to be a really good make up job.

I've GOT to stop reading these threads about Ep III. I want everything to be a total surprise when I see this one.
It's too bad I've already been corrupted by this: http://www.fbtb.net/customs/jsi/riseoftheempire.mov All speculation, mind you. |
Wow, it's almost scary how well done that is, scansinboy. It's cool though. I agree that I want everything to be a surprise, but I'm never going to be able to avoid the spoilers. I'm just too curious.
|
woah.... Peter Cushing Dead or Alive?
|
Peter Cushing the muppet. Who is this guy? Anyone know what the actor's name is so that we can find out what he looks like out of his Tarkin disguise?
|
Rohan Nichol I believe, some people think it's Christian Bale lol.

And oh yeah, wow, good job by the make up department, I was hoping the actor that played the younger Tarkin wouldn't be so obscure so that if you saw him you'd be like "Uhh, was that supposed to be Tarkin." But, it's more like "HOLY SHIT! That was Grand Freakin Moff Tarkin!" |

|
Spoiler: Yeah but if you blinked, you missed him. He has no lines, and appears for about 1 second. You were probably too busy looking at the skeletal framework of the Death Star being built.

amd explain why this was cool. |
It was a great moment for the fans, otherwise yes, blink and he's gone. Quite a lot of attention to detail for a 10 second role.
|
when I saw him I nudged my brother (Lasereth) and said "look it's Grand Moff Tarkin!!!!!" and then I realized how much of a nerd I just was and crouched into my seat. sweet movie pleasure.
|
I wish I wouldn't have seen the still above. Having grown up watching Cushing in horror flicks, the likeness just doesn't work. He never looked different like that, just younger. Seeing him on the Star Destroyer just looked weird.

OOO! Not a 100% likeness, but i couldn't give a damn, the characters there! yey!

I agree. I especially liked the fact that Lucas didn't overdo it, like "Hey look! I put Grand Moff Tarkin in too! My friend didn't even notice it was him until I pointed it out. |
