What's the most annoying product placement in a television show?
My vote goes to an episode of Alias last season. Sydney is chasing after some bad guy in a Ford Focus. On her cell, she tells what's-his-name that she driving the "Ford Focus". He asks which model and she tells him it's the ZX3. I'm surprised they didn't mention the price!
Survivor comes in second; GM, coke, etc. |

Big Brother is full of them. The worst was last night when 2 contestants got a sneak preview of a new movie... Then they asked them how it was. They hadn't even seen a TV in months, so of course they thought it was great. Immediately after they cut to a commercial for, guess what..... the soon to be released movie .....

I am going to have to go with the entirety of The Restaurant on NBC. Apparently, the only credit card anyone ever payed with was American Express, and I swear Rocco read right off of a cue card at times: "Money is going out faster than it is coming in. I know, I will call Angie at American Express and get a small business loan to bridge the gap." Not to mention the brand new Mitsubishi SUV that Rocco drove and people on the show actually commented on. "When you have a car like that, I bet you have to beat the ladies off with a stick." The only beer that was ever shown was Coor Light. Guess what were the 3 most prominent advertisers for the show during actual commecials? Although, it was king of hard to tell at times what was a commercial and what was the show since Rocco was in some of the commercials.

Any and all of them. The Media is the Message.
I don't have cable, don't have a TV antenna. Therefore, the TV doesn't market at me... If only I could get rid of all the friggin add on the web.

Just watched The Bachelor (my wife was watching it, seriously). I saw a part where the goofy guy was drinking a Pepsi Vanilla, and what commercial comes on afterwards? You guessed it. But wait, this was so bad, it makes the other shows' antics seem like accidents. The camera zoomed in on him drinking a Pepsi Vanilla, and then zoomed in on the can. If that isn't crap, I don't know what is.
The next bad series would have to be The Restaurant on NBC. They advertised Rocco's Mitsubishi, American Express, and Bud Light all over the place. It was shameless cause they even did it in the intro to every episode, and then went to commercial advertising all 3 products. It still isn't as bad as the Bachelor one though. At least in my opinion. Maybe it's cause I'm jealous that that fucking fat ass gets to pick from all kinds of hot bitches, and I'm here stuck with this one. Damn me and my horny cock! I could've had that too! |
