I hope Episode III has a decent lightsaber duel.

Seeing Yoda fight in Episode II was neat, but it made people laugh.

Epsiode I's Darth Maul made people say "cool".

Maybe I'm just tired.

There is a picture of R2-D2 on the set if you click on the link for the other pictures. I read somewhere that R2-D2 was going to be rendered for the entire film, and the guy who is usually inside R2-D2 won't be around at all. Yet, there is the model of R2-D2 on set. Anyone else read about this?

Man, Darth Maul and his fucking lightsaber was incredible in Episode I. People look at Jar-Jar and a few bad acting jobs and relate it to the overall aspect of Episode I. It wasn't as bad as people say. I liked it, even though I hate the bad parts as bad as the next crazed fan. Jar-Jar was fuckin stupid and Anakin was a VERY bad actor. Other than that, Episode I was a good movie.

Episode II sucked. Blah. I can't really say anything else than that. The Yoda scene was stupid as hell, even though it had good theater effect (it seems way cooler in theater than when you see it at home). Duel of the Fates, the Darth Maul theme in Episode I, was another factor that made Episode I simply better than the second one. If John Williams can compose a piece as intriguing as Duel of the Fates and Lucas can get a screenplay worth a shit, Episode III might have a chance.

Like I said before, Lucas has been made aware of this by the fans and McCallum and he's said that he's giving the actors space to breathe. I still very much enjoyed Ep1 and 2, and am thoroughly looking forward to Ep3.
I think that Lucas should definitely give the actors a chance to act instead of just be part of the set.

Everybody griping that Hayden can't act should all just shut up since he was a hundred times better than Jake Lloyd.

The sad part is, Hayden Christiansen is a really good actor. He was marvelous in "Life As A House" with Kevin Cline. I think Lucas is to blame for how bad he seemed in Episode II.

I'm worried about it too. It seems that it keeps getting worse and worse.

I'm sure there's a compliment in there somewhere, but damned if I can find it.

But - I agree - he did a pretty good job in Life as a House

could not agree more with these posts. There are so many real star wars fans out there, including me, that are hoping for a good one. I can't tell you what it felt like several years ago seeing the previews for the first time on the movie screen, I even went to see Meet Joe Black just for that one preview, and was sorely disappointed with the actual movie, but I chalked it up to, maybe I'm just not a little kid anymore. I think this Anikan is a good cross between the jedis in the prequals and Luke in ROTJ, when he dressed in all black, not the brown jedi robes, and I'm hoping for the best.

I blocked the last movie out of my memory. Did Anikin lose his hand? How did that happen?

Some of my complaints in compairing episodes 4-6 with 1-2.
4-6 = Low budget made the sets plain, letting the focus be on the characters and not the shiny cg robots. Poor, deserted places like Mos Isely (forgive my spelling) were actually poor deserted places and not jawa carnivals.
4-6 = There were actually different alien languages made for each species as opposed to 1-2 which have stereotypical earth accents to give the different species degrading rasict connotations.
4-6 = The movies have a story to tell, and are not just huge advertisements for pc games.
1-2 = Fantastic cg special effects, which still can't compare to the plain models used in 4-6 for adding realism. This is why LotR series comes off so much better. They used models for as much as possible.
