Need HELP Remembering a Movie Title!!!
This has been driving me nuts for a couple of years now!!
Anyway, It's a foriegn (?) film about this priest who is elected to be the youngest pope ever. The job isn't what it's cracked up to be. One day while the young pope is in the Vatican garden, he finds a door in the wall and curious, he opens it and finds it leads to the outside. He then gets locked out. SPOILER BELOW FOR THIS GREAT MOVIE! DON'T READ IF YOUR INTERESTED IN RENTING IT! Ok, nobody recognizes the pope, so he starts wandering around Rome, remembering what it was like before he became famous. He ends up at this poor poor parish that doesn't have a priest. The people and church are run down and impoverished, much like the spirit of the pope. He becomes there parish priest and they help each other discover what it is like to live again. All the while the Vatican is going nuts over their lost pope. Please help me with the title!

As I was reading Lebell's post I kept thinking "Tom...Tom...Tom?...Tom Who?"
Tom Conti played the leading role. My brain only works part-time.
