It's caused by the steroids he's taking to fight IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis). He was diagnosed with the disease about 2 years ago. It will probably be what kills him.

Yes, but he's had a good, productive, creative life.
You wouldn't believe everything that he's done for the entertainment industry.

I wish he wasn't in as much pain as he is.

Same here gain 100 pound since I been on Predisone. I felt better when I was dialysis.

On a personal note, Jerry Lewis up close and personal is a real jerk, or atleast was. My aunt had to work with him for awhile and he had a reputation for firing women who wouldnt sleep with him.

Not really. Actually, he has some sort of disease which causes chronic pain on a daily (if not unending) basis, and the medication he has to take for that has really messed up his metabolism.

He can't help it.

My cousin's husband was on predisone (sp?) up to the day he died.

He was also bloated like that

Jerry Lewis invented a system we use called "video assist" whereby the camera is hooked to a recording device and one can review the scene at the time of shooting. I personally believe that is his only worthwhile contribution to the industry. (Unless it can be proven otherwise.)
I find his comedy ineffectual and crass. His reputation is far worse. He has helped his kids with his vast fortune, but more than this?
Oh, yeah, and the French think he's funny. What is wrong with the French?

Did anyone see him on Conan a few months ago? I happened to catch it. He was there seemingly only to promote an electrical device that helps him with his pain, but you could tell Conan was overjoyed to be interviewing his idol. Anyway, there was a seriously awkwark moment when he was talking about his pain and he said he actually was about to shoot himself with a pistol and his daughter walked in or something. It kind of brought the show to a screeching halt and he continued plugging his electrical device. I was suprised they didn't cut that part out.
