King of the Hill
i love this show. although not as good as simpsons/futurama/family guy, this show kicks some serious ass.
i really like hank's character since he's a model american who loves his job and his nation. his passion toward propane is amazing and funny at the same time. "I sell propane and propane accessories". i love that line! bobby is a hilarious character also. the tone of his voice cracks me up sometimes. it's funny about how peggy always thinks she's #1 and how self-righteous she is. two other things i liked about the show 1) they bashed jeff gordon and hank made him crash! hehe 2) george bush was shown as having a limp hand and couldnt give a many handshake to hank! hank questions whether or not he should vote for gwb in the upcomming election. the show's hilarious.

The genius of King of the Hill lays in the deliberate exaggeration of the mundane to such extrodinary levels that you can't help but crack a smile.
A perfect example is the episode where Hank becomes horrified when Peggy and Bobby cook something with - gasp - a non-propane fuel. In my mind, Hank Hill is the ultimate straight man.

It's a nice change from the exaggeration from the Simpsons. Bobby, always misunderstood, and Cotton, hobbling around, are my favorites.
I like how the characters grow a little and change. The John Redcorn/Nancy thing ended, Joseph does the puberty thing, Cotton's son, Good Hank. |

While many times the comedy seemed to mundane that it passed me by on the first viewing, I do admit I haven't seen the series lately. One thing my brother did note was it was the only cartoon series he had seen where the cars could be identifiable by make and model.
Still remember my favorite Hank quote, "Well Peggy, it goes to show that father knows best, and mothers, while well meaning, are usually wrong." Well, that and "Peggy, I am trying to contain the outbreak, and you're driving the money to the airport!"

Like others have said, I didn't think too highly of it when it first came out. Maybe because the animation didn't look very spiffy. It did turn out to be pretty good and it has its moments. It's a good show but I'd watch Family Guy over it any day.
