Didn't know it got bad reviews, but i liked it.
I don't know if Orange County is the way they make it look on the show but they have a discussion about it in Tilted Nonsense. http://tfproject.org/tfp/showthread....&threadid=7851

Having lived in O.C. all my life, I can tell you that life in many places is very similar to that. I went to high school with 15 year olds driving brand new BMW's. There are some parts in Orange County that aren't that nice (although still extremely expensive to live in..I'm talking $400k houses) but for the most part places like Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Mission Viejo etc are quite similar to the show. You can find plenty of neighborhoods where the houses will range anywhere from $1 million to 5 million.
As for the show, I like it so far. There were a couple of cheesy parts like last weeks episode when they go off in the car talking about which punk bands they like. The stereotypes are definately there, but I guess that's what the show is supposed to be right? Anyway, I think I'ma go bodyboarding at Newport for a while. Cya

This coming Tuesday is going to be the third episode. However, they're going to be airing an encore presentation of the 2nd episode on monday night at 9 pm. If you can, make sure to catch it.

I've seen most of the first two episodes, and I have trouble with the lead actor as a high schooler...but this has the unintentional comedy potential of 90210, IMO.

At first, I thought this show would suck, due to the fact, that the Washington Post gave it a bad review, but then I saw some of the other reviews on Access Hollywood and decided to watch it, I like this show a lot, but I hope FOX doesn't pull the plug too early/late.
Showing it 3 times a week now, is kind of irritating though... |

She also played the nubile, high school sweet thang just beginning to discover her own lesbian tendencies in the short-lived ABC program "Once and Again." She was absolutely the only reason I allowed my wife to "force" me to watch that show.

I know i've been reading on several message boards about how everyone thinks the show is stupid and whatnot, but i really like it.
It's an over the top drama that is just what i need to escape reality. I just think that Ryan should tackle people less often. I think he's done it at least once each episode and then next week, something bad happens after a tackle. Hmmm, maybe there's an OC drinking game in there somewhere. |

I was really hoping Seth was going to get laid the last episode. But, of course, that chick is leaving town. Oh well, maybe he'll get lucky and nail Summer before the end of the season.

I've only watched bits and pieces of the show, but I love it. I adore Seth. He used to be on Gilmore Girls and I think he is just adorable...

It's a shame, but I've got a class scheduled from 6-9 (Central time) on Tuesdays. So unless I get out of class early, I'm going to be missing a few episodes. I hope they keep up with the repeats!
I can't really see Seth turning down summer, though, if she eventually went for him. He's had a crush on her for how long? That is assuming he stays single. If he does manage to hook up with that other girl (Anna, was it?) then I can see him turning down Summer. Just not if he's still alone. ...and does anyone else think that the Dad in the series is really funny?

They better not cancel it, i'm really into this show. I've watched all the episodes from when the show first started and liked them. Yet, i too have little faith in fox with all the bad decisions they have made in the past.

I doubt that Seth and Marrisa are brother and sister. How would it have worked out that she went to live with her dad? Don't you think Sandy would have noticed his wife was pregnant? I mean, sure I guess it's possible, but not likely.
The cheers for Summer kissing Seth though.

Although the name "OC" sounds cool, wouldn't it be more correct to call the show Newport Beach? Honestly, the way they portray the lifestyle, it doesn't look like Westminster or the other cities of Orange County. The only one that I know of that is wealthy is Newport Beach.

watched it from the start. it's pretty cool so far- kind of sweet how they help the kid ryan out, and i like the goofiness of the interactions the characters have. it does have dangerously high potential to become all soap-opra-y and rich-people-floofy, but until they screw it up i'll be quite happy to watch it. i think the characters have a lot of redeeming value, mainly seth. he's so cute- goofy enough to make things fun, but not overly nerdy. cool cool stuff folks. if you haven't seen it yet i suggest you do.
