Seriously. When it comes on I just stare at the TV.
Last night ep 3 was on. I had a pile of dirty dishes in my hand standing in the hallway and I just stood there with a wierd grin on my face until the first commercial.

I gotta search thoroughly through the posts next time. I just started a new thread on this, and someone pointed out that this one already existed. blarg.....
As for the show, I just started watching not too long ago, and despite being hopelessly confused I like it. Still like Bebop better though. Don't shoot me.

Seeing this a second time really seems to shed some light on what's actually going on with the series (although some things will never be clear- why guitars, other than they're cool?). After seeing episode 5 again tonight, I have to wonder, is it possible that Haruko once jerked around the Man with the Eyebrows when he was a kid the way she does Naota? He seemed to make some comments to that effect... in fact, he might even be a grown-up, future version of Naota. It wouldn't be the first unexplained crack-ass thing to happen in this show.

OK well anyways, I finally feel complete! I found out what song they play towards the end of the show. Not ride on shooting star, but the other one they play towards when they're beating the last monster or stuff is being resolved, (or as resolved as they can get in FLCL). SO anyways for those of you who may have been wondering too, It's called little busters, by the pillows! Awesome song! aww how I love FLCL. I can't find the dvd in stores though. I looked in Suncoast and they don't have it...? I know you can get it on line but I want to look at it first! hehe well I can finally go to sleep after finding that song! aww relief!

I saw a sound track for ep 5-6 on ebay, not too pricey either for an import.
I picked up the Cowboy Bebop movie soundtrack sometime ago and that was a decent purchase. The second CD that cam with it pretty muched sucks but all the tracks from the movie were great.

It's not going to, or at least I'm pretty sure. Next week THey are airing the new episodes of Inuyasha! woo hoo new episodes! They are going to play them at the time that they play flcl now. But you never know with Adult Swim!

local comic store had 'em..
they are made by Kaiyodo toys..(they make lots of anime based action figures).. You might be able to find them at local bomic shops, or maybe Suncoast, though you're going to pay 15bucks a peice for them. they dont really do anything but sit there.. |

FLCL is just.. brillant to me. Strangly enough, I got most of the plot on my first watch through. I guess I'm just used to processing information in quick, random bits.
Ganguro, you mentioned something about getting all 6 of the Episodes on one DVD as a Bootleg? I thought it was just an import. I saw it at DiscountAnimeDvd.com, and there's no telling the legitimacy there, however. I actually found out about the Pillows before I saw Furi Kuri. I went through a J-rock phase last year...

Yeah spinach thats a bootleg, and really doesnt help anyone out but the sellers of the DVD.. the creators of the series arent getting any of that money, so people who buy bootlegs might as well download the series off the internet after it's been liscenced. They're both unethical ways of getting the goods. Generally when you see anything "discounted" it's generally a bootleg.
A good way to tell is if it's a non region disk, and advertises chinese subtitles. Bootlegs are rarely dubbeed, or have selectable audio tracks. They are the worst thing ever! Hey.. btw.. did you guys see the sticky thread at the top of this forum? You know.. if you really want to discuss anime.. you might want to look at that thread |

I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in by saying I love this show and I'm glad I'm not the only person that's been confused by it. I'm still not sure I've seen ever episode on CN, but what I have seen I've loved. Along with Big-O and Family Guy I have a great block to TV to watch late at night
BTW where are you guys finding the full soundtrack for this show? I've seen some records online but nothing that looked offical for a decent price.

I bought the OAV of FLCL at sundevildvd for Ryan for Xmas. Thought I don't understand the show all that much, I do enjoy watching it. The music is great and some of the things you catch after watching the series a second or third time are hilarious.
Prophecy- here are some websites that I like to frequent for DVD's and soundtracks sundevildvd.com animenation.com cartoonpassion.com and, of course ebay.com

sundevildvd - HKdvd's and bootlegs
animenation - legit, fast friendly service pretty good prices too cartoon passion - mostly hk rips and lots of bootlegged anime and sdtks.. I will gime credit for having a nice selection and cheap prices though, but the stuff is still illegal copies. Id stick to the bookstores, and reputable places like Amazon and animenation, etc.. if you want authentic material.. The little mom and pop sites are almost always illegal copies and sketchy in terms of how reputable of a business they really are. Any yahoo can set up a website. |

This whole thing can be described in one sentence:
What...the...fuck? It was awesome, no doubt about that, just the pacing and style was so different than what you normally expect, so cool...

This (along with Invader Zim and Cowboy Bebop) is the only cartoon that I would really recommend to "adult" type people, just because it's so cool! I think it's implied that Noata and Mamimi make out often, meaning he's not gay. Only his shorts are.
I bought the OST Addict Vol.1 from one of those Yahoo shopping stores for around $10, and it's never left my cd player. Great driving music, since a lot is mostly instrumental. All are really fun to play on guitar, too! |
