I'm not much of a docu kinda guy. Aside from Crumb and the various films making fun of the genre, it's slim pickin's for me.
However after reading up a bit on this guy, he sounds a lot like Yoda: (1) The law of identity: ‘Whatever is, is.’ (2) The law of contradiction: ‘Nothing can both be and not be.’ (3) The law of excluded middle: ‘Everything must either be or not be .’ Perhaps the ensuing conversation is better placed in philosophy, but I am willing to stand up and say I disagree. The world is not black and white.

Jacque Derrida is a head-wrecker.
His prose, philosophy and arguments are dense and difficult to decipher. Basically, nothing really exists outside of a social / personal construct and negotiated contract... Actually, it's very hard to think about, let alone describe. It makes my brain bleed... Mr Mephisto |
