Simpsons for its longevity and South Park for it in your face laughs.

That's like saying, what's better: DOOM, or some other newer, flashy FPS (like say upcoming HL2 or something).

I guess that statement could be read two different ways though ;)

South park was hilarious when i was.... 14. Now after a few seasons I'm surprised it's lasted this long. It bores me now. Simpsons has been around almost my whole life and has been one of the few constants in it. There is no "close call" here.

It seems to me South Park is funnier on a first viewing (more shock value), while Simpsons is funny watching over and over again.

I love them both, but Simpsons wins, no contest. South Park isn't as smart as the Simpsons and there are alot more veiled jokes in the Simpsons that make it even more fun. Family guy is pretty good too

I totally agree, i still watch the old reruns everyday twice a day and even though i know all of the episodes by heart already, they are still damned hilarious. The Simpsons cannot and will not ever be beaten. Family Guy is way better than South Park. Its got a mix of South Parks "in your face" comedy along with a lot of smarter more subtle stuff thats really funny.

The simpsons is a classic, and will always be one of the best comedy cartoons of all time, however, the new SP's are gold.

Yeah, I think they are two totally different animals, Im not sure you can really compare them this way.

I think they're both great, but south park takes the extra step to offend more people, so I would give my vote to South Park, although the simpsons will always hold a special place in my heart.

I am surprised that so many people see South Park as just a show with shock humor. Doesn’t any one notice that every episode has some social commentary? Between mocking the way our word is and some seriously funny jokes that can only little kids can get away with SP take top honors in my books.

Family Guy is great. The episode 13 “Death is a Bitch” was probably the funniest TV show episode in history. Unfortunately it’s a really shallow show, though they pull of the shock humor rather well.

The Simpsons were a big favorite of mine but they can't be compared to the other two. They are more of a family show that focuses on zany situations.

I never liked Family Guy or South Park that much. Simpsons win it for me.

I've never been a huge South Park fan. I've seen a show here and there but they don't seem to be as clever as the Simpsons. The Simpsons is a great show and most definitly the king of cartoon comedy.

The Family Guy could've been a contender had it not been pulled by Fox so early. Truly a funny show. Hopfuly the dvd's are under the tree for me in a couple days.

I love both, and they are actually the only non-sports/movies shows I will watch. I'd have to say The Simpsons is better because there is so much subtlety in the show. South Park is in your face and raw.....
