marcopolo 04-23-2003 01:54 PM

I'm sorry ... you can vote ' other ' but tell us why .

cdwonderful 04-23-2003 03:02 PM

the Galatica hands down

Tophat665 04-23-2003 03:16 PM

Dude! Where's the Red Dwarf?

Tophat665 04-23-2003 03:19 PM

Howzabout the Heart of Gold? The Berserker? (I think we can safely rule out the Nostromo)

RenegadeSoul 04-23-2003 03:26 PM

the death star damnit! It can blow up a whole planet! A planet folks!

You know, I was all set to say that the Enterprise E from the alternate future in "All Good Things..." (NOT the one from the movies) was the strongest...but then I saw the Lexx in the options and got to thinking and, WOW, that's one powerful ship. I had pretty much forgotten about it. The one flaw though is that it takes so long to get going. The Deathstar is faster with almost as much power and the Enterprise E (AGT version) could rip through the Deathstar before it even got its power up. Then there's the Borg cube. Based strictly on the ship and ignoring the skill of the people running it, the Borg cube is stronger than the Enterprise E. It's been too long since I've seen Battlestar so I can't really remember how powerful that one is. As far as the Endeavour...why in the world is it even listed? Unless I'm missing something and you're not talking about the Federation starship. Anyway, that leaves the Borg cube as the most powerful.

KillerYoda 04-23-2003 05:22 PM

I dunno if anyone was actually nerdy enough to read the Star Wars books, but does anyone remember the SunCrusher? It was better than the Death Star, and could destroy whole galaxies.

Han Solo stole it too.

Destroy whole galaxies?? I mean, I realize it's science FICTION but COME ON! This is why I like Star Trek, they at least attempt for a fair amount of realism as far as what's possible.

(Then again, the Genesis thing was pretty unplausable - oh well)

World's King 04-23-2003 05:54 PM

The Death Star all the way...

Gotta love the bg testical in the sky.

Zotz 04-23-2003 06:01 PM

I think the Sun Crusher could destroy a star system, not the entire galaxy (which is comprised of multiple star systems).

dankitti 04-23-2003 07:24 PM

i could see why you did NOT include the jupiter II, the Stargazer, or the TARDIS, or deep space 9. but how about babylon 5? :D

Orionath 04-23-2003 07:24 PM

Aww... The Lexx would have the Death Star for a snack!

diergray 04-23-2003 09:08 PM

What about the spaceship yamamoto from star blazers! The wave motion gun would kick all their asses.

Snoogans 04-24-2003 12:33 AM

Other

Unicron, if it/he qualifies as a spaceship. A giant metal planet that devoures everyting in its path.

iktoweya 04-24-2003 01:40 AM

im really down with armored mecha but that is anime and seeing as how i know nothing about star trek and have only played aramada and aramada II i have to go with the cube

*i just realized that this is not about star trek so i stick with my original not listed choice which is armored mecha

Troublebot 04-24-2003 01:15 PM

I think it would come down to the Death Star and the Borg Cube. With the Borg Cube kicking serious ass and assimilating stormtroopers left and right.

Tell me you wouldn't pay to see that!

Lebell 04-24-2003 03:23 PM

Wow,

I'm embarassed to say I've never heard of the Lexx, but powerwise, the Death Star is hard to beat. Of course, a large ship like the Enterpise can still easily avoid being targeted by it's main weapon, the question then becomes whose shield technology is superior, the Federation's or the Empires.

In otherwords, can a tie fighter effectively attack a starship and can a starship knock through the Death Star's shields?

Of course the most powerful ship that was mentioned at all is the Tardis, if you look past it's unassuming exterior and just think about it. The Tardis can time travel to any period and simply appear in a cargo hold of the Enterprise or the main reactor chamber of the Death Star and drop off an antimatter bomb before anyone could stop it. For that matter, it could just pop over to Coresant (sp?) and kill Palpatine before he ever came to power.

I guess it's a good thing Time Lords are *mostly* benevolent.

degrawj 04-24-2003 03:24 PM

the borg would own all.

snowy 04-24-2003 03:27 PM

Resistance is futile. The Borg cube wins.

onodrim 04-24-2003 04:56 PM

Hey! Where is Moya? You can't leave that ship out of here! :)

monody 04-24-2003 05:16 PM

and the Heart of Gold!

portwineboy 04-24-2003 05:21 PM

Burt Rutan and SpaceShipOne

now that kicks ASS

Yeah, I checked the book, it destroyed solar systems, not galaxies. Still, that's better than the Death Star's one-planet a time thing.

And don't lie to yourself, SecretMethod, Star Trek isn't that much more realistic. They've travelled in time more than Marty McFly, Bill and Ted, and the Smurfs combined!

They don't try for more realism at all. They're just pretentious enough to try and cover up the fact that it's all bullshit. :)

Nothing with that though, really......

Cuball 04-25-2003 07:30 AM

my vote goes to the armor plated Voyager ! kicks ass

redravin40 04-25-2003 07:31 AM

I was thinking the Andromada, not because she is so powerful but because the AI is hot.
Voted for The Lexx for power and creativity. The show is strange and wonderful like real science fiction should be. The Lexx can destroy entire planets and fight off swarms of robot arms.

laughter 04-25-2003 11:13 AM

I think Tophat had it right. The Heart of Gold needs no firepower. It has probability on its side.

Charlatan 04-25-2003 12:54 PM

The lexx would totally kick the asses of all of the listed ships BUT The Heart of Gold would win hands down... when you have infinite improbablity on your side what can possibly beat you?

As for the Tardis... it is really a space/time ship and so doesn't really qualify.

Spaceship Yamamoto gets my consolation prize just because it is so cool.

algore 04-25-2003 06:50 PM

what about the big ass mother ship from independence day? the one 1/4 the size of the moon?

Gortexfogg 04-26-2003 11:50 AM

Ok, take the Death Star off that list. Doesn't any remember it was a 'space station'? I may seem anal, but it is no space ship.

And The Lexx is the most powerful by far.

yyyeeeahhhh!! Red Dwarf rocks!!

But going from the choices given, I'm with the Borg Cube. Cuz the Borg would adapt to the other's weapons system and render them powerless.

It can't be that great if a guy with a Powerbook (?) could take out its sheilds by sneaking aboard with a 50-year-old scout ship.

I'm with Yoda on the Sun Crusher, because of the invincibility thing. I'm also thinking the Galaxy Gun, solely because its missiles can cross the galaxy in a couple of hours and take out an entire planet. Talk about first strike capability.

Scorpio 04-27-2003 02:00 AM

I find your lack of faith in the death star disturbing....

greytone 04-27-2003 04:57 PM

How about the one in Hitchhiker's? It could wreak havoc on the fabric of space and time just by random chance.

Mr.Deflok 04-27-2003 05:40 PM

The X-Wing! After all, it did kill the Death Star! ;) Suncrusher in my opinion is the best but remember, it's EU so it is not an official Star Wars universe vehicle unless stated by the man himself, George Lucarse.

warrrreagl 04-28-2003 10:51 AM

I didn't know Victor Borg even had a cube!

Mr. Mojo 04-28-2003 01:23 PM

I remember years ago sitting it my stupid SCUBA diving class day-dreaming, and drawing which ship would win in a battle: The Enterprise, or a Star Destroyer. It’s a tough call: the Enterprise had "main energizers" off line every time someone threw a soda bottle at them. They always lost warp power, but they always 'reconfigured'.
The Enterprise has 1,000(?) people on board? According to the books, the Star Destroyers have like 30,000 people? (Am I remembering that right?) It would be cool to see swarms of TIE's attacking.
So could the SD win just with numbers – it all depends on who gets the first shot.
As you can see, I had lots of time to doodle while I'm supposed to be learning about DCS…

I am such a geek…
