Movies NOT to watch with your girlfriend

I'll start this off with:

It's fucking wierd! It's really good too.

clockworkgreen 08-05-2003 08:19 PM

American Psycho.

She'll give you that weird look every time you flex into a mirror, like, "Oh, so *this* is where you learned that!"

I never thought necrophilia could be so funny.

RE:

embrace of the Vampire (Alyssa Milano Lesbo Scene WHOO HOO!)

Any of the Poison Ivy Movies

and any Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan Movie sans Joe VS the Valcano...
all you'll get is her crying on your shoulder and no boom-boom

Joe VS The Valcano is classic Hanks from his bachelor party days...
and Ryan has never been hotter than in JVV

8MM...and for some reason, Chasing Amy. Most girls I talk to hate that flick. However, those that do like it get a bit of a bonus in my book.

Slims 08-05-2003 09:27 PM

A Clockwork Orange.

Most girlfriends don't like it when you root for a character who just happens to be a rapist.

pangavan 08-05-2003 11:33 PM

the marrying man with Alec Baldwin and Kim Bassinger

girl interrupted
I fear the movie after seeing the reaction of my ex

sadatx 08-06-2003 02:26 AM

Baise-Moi.

She'll either hate for bringing her to such a disturbingly disgusting flick or hate you for being an oppresive man in which case, being influenced by the flick, she'll fuck you and then blow your brains out with a .45

I showed one girl that movie and she loved it, but then she hated clerks with a passion...so i think they cancel each other out

MPower 08-06-2003 06:53 AM

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. And Star Trek II.
sounds weird, but try it. I have never had a girl manage to sit through 15 min of either one.

I'm lucky in that I can watch any sort of sick shit with my GF, as she's as fucked up as me :D

However, trying to watch Henry, Portrait Of A Serial Killer or Cannibal Holocaust round "normal" women is not such a good idea!

My wife is the same way. We just watched Irreversible last night and she had no idea about the 9 minute scene, which caught her off guard of course. We both thought it was a cool movie, but I would have to say if your SO isn't into weird/freaky/graphic stuff, this is one to keep her away from.

Stare At The Sun 08-06-2003 01:51 PM

yeah, star trek is a no no..:(

as is kids...

SiN 08-06-2003 01:58 PM

hmm...there's a lot of movies in this thread i've not seen (most actually)..

I don't get that... unless you're saying that she's going to have the hots for one of the guys in the movie/TV show and that would make you jealous...

I can understand how it would be tough to compete with Picard, Riker, Worf, Spock, Kirk, Sisko, Chakotay or Data... (He is *fully* functional after all)

That was the first film to come to mind.

Intimacy and Romance X might be tricky, depending on the person's mentality.

Salò is a definite no-no.

Vyk 08-06-2003 04:00 PM

I went to see Showgirls in the theatre with my girlfriend. It was actually her idea. Was the first and only movie I ever walked out on.

Though, at least I got consolation sex for having to have been dragged to such a stinker :)

cetacean 08-06-2003 06:38 PM

American Psycho disturbed my girlfriend an dI both also! I thought we were gonna break up as we left the theater all tweaked out.

Jdermit101 08-06-2003 07:18 PM

Reservoir Dogs.

440sixpack 08-06-2003 07:49 PM

Any of the SPike 'n' Mike's Sick and Twisted Festivals of Animation (again, unless she's into that kind of stuff). I got a kick out of their three star grossness rating system, where three stars was "The date's all over". :D

dellamag6 08-06-2003 07:54 PM

Steel Magnolias, I hate her to see me cry.

tj2001cobra 08-06-2003 08:20 PM

For some reason, my fiance doesn't like any of the movies with Jay and Silent Bob. She also didn't like Office Space, which I think is hilarious.

Batman976 08-06-2003 09:23 PM

Well, I don't know, but I do have this bit of advice...

If you're watching a movie with a girl who cheating on her boyfriend for the first time with you, don't watch One Hour Photo. It makes her feel bad.

(...and for the record, her boyfriend was a douche who treated her like shit (probably still does), so I don't really feel bad for doing it.)

loxor 08-06-2003 09:35 PM

I think any movie ware there is a kill count higher then 2 and any chick that has bigger boobies then your ladyfrined.

baboora 08-06-2003 10:53 PM

finding nemo...

just kidding :P

laxative 08-07-2003 12:40 AM

chicks hate Vietnam movies.

XenuHubbard 08-07-2003 04:12 AM

Horror normally goes down well with my wife, but she didn't like "Braindead". Could have something to do with it's world record when it comes to the use of fake blood. 30000 litres.

Otherwise: War movies. And yeah, she doesn't like HongKongnese gangster flicks. Her dad's a cop...

far2bored 08-07-2003 10:17 AM

Hrm.. I took a first date to Schindlers List..
