sounds weird, but try it. I have never had a girl manage to sit through 15 min of either one."

- I love both! :-D

“loxor- I think any movie ware there is a kill count higher then 2 and any chick that has bigger boobies then your ladyfrined.”

- what's wrong with death? :-D as long as it's not super twisted and gruesome, fine with me. as for the boobies... as long as i can imagine i'm her, it's all good... :-p

"laxative- chicks hate Vietnam movies."

-Rambo ho!!!

death and distruction can be just fine- just keep sick perversion to a minimum.

Do not, under any circumstances, watch American Me. The scenes of prison brutality are just the most gruesome I have ever seen...
But if you like scenes involving Bowie knives, shanks, and anal adventures - American Me!

Heartbreakers.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is unbeleivably hot in every scene. She wears some skimpy tight dresses all throughout the movie. I saw it in the theaters with some buddies, and everytime she'd show up on screen with something new on, every guy in the theater let out a very long "daaaammmnn". This would NOT be a good movie to see with the girl friend.

Requiem For a Dream...

Most horribly depressing movie ever. You'll have to watch something like Aladdin or You've Got Mail after Requiem just to counter the horrible mental imagery.

plus, she probably wont kiss you that night

After reading this thread, I've come to realize how deprived I am. Only only seen a few of those movies, like Office Space and Fight Club, both awesome movies. Anyone else think 12 Monkeys might not go over too well with gals? Oh, and I also became extremely depressed over not having anyone, because everyone is talking about their significant others. Heh. Time to go listen to some consolation songs and then masturbate! Yay! ::jumps up and down in joy::

That's a sure fire way to ruin a brilliant film...

Or at least the first 20 minutes before they leave thank god...

In fact there's just entire genres that you can't enjoy with women...

You can't watch Kung Fu.

Kung Fu (the TV series), Enter the Dragon, Way of the Dragon, The Big Boss, The Chinese Connection, Shaolin Temple, 36th Chamber of the Shaolin, Invincible Pole Fighter.. the list goes on. For some reason women don't find the concept of martial arts cool!!

Samurai and Westerns.

Like cowlick said: 7 Samurai, so while you're at it, just cross, Yojimbo, Kagemusha etc off the list.

Then go on to remove Sergio Leone's entire catalogue, INCLUDING Once upon a time in America.

Then take out The Wild Bunch, Magnificent Seven, High Noon, Pale Rider, Josey Wales. The only western they can watch is 'Paint your wagon' and I think we can all agree that this is amongst the most henious of film crimes.

Now gangster films have to go. Godfather, Godfather Part II, Goodfellas, Casino, Donnie Brasco, Scarface, Carlito's Way, Bugsy...

Then you might as well take out Humphrey Bogart, except perhaps Casablanca...

Evil Dead III Army of Darkness rarely goes over well...

Then you got to take out classics like: The Great Escape, The Dirty Dozen, Where Eagles Dare, Battle of the Bulge.

All your Nam movies, especially Apocalypse Now, but also Deer Hunter and Platoon and FMJ.

So basically women and good film don't mix...

How can anyone not like Kevin Smith movies, the guy is a genius -- if a woman says she doesn't like 'em -- she's telling you a bold faced lie -- those movies are side splitting funny.

9 1/2 Weeks? Gawd Mickey Rourke is so incredibly HOT in that movie - Ya don't want the ladies watching it -

I have never gotten the humor behind Monty Python movies, but I know plenty of women who can quote them chapter and verse.

War movies, mainly. Endless battle scenes = not good. Also, most psycho-killer/serial killer movies, unless there's a strong woman lead and maybe not even then.

The exception to these is 1) if it's actually a stylish, complex movie, and especially 2) if there's an actor in it that she likes or is hot for. My wife admires Kevin Spacey as an actor, so I had no trouble dragging her to L.A. Confidential or The Usual Suspects, two Spacey movies, even though she normally would be too concerned about the violence to go. And of course they were both two fine movies, critically acclaimed.

Wow... I'm weirder than I thought. When I was dating, we both picked out Reservoir Dogs, Fight Club, both intensely into Hannibal, I LOVED Dogma, Office Space, 12 monkeys.... If I watch too many girly sappy movies I start to go nuts. I've seen too much real Vietnam footage from one of my classes to be thrilled with seeing too many movies, but I couldn't get my ex to watch Platoon with me after we watched the unedited version in class. Or Hamburger Hill. So much for girls having a weaker stomach.

I'll watch just about anything once before making a judgement on it. Only thing that might not go are cartoons if there aren't captions for me to follow.

Any movie containing things from a war (guns, bombs, etc

Any movie where they talk about war

Any movie that was made at the same time a movie about war was made

Any movie that makes references to movies about war

Any movie that has actors in it that were in movies about war

Can we say I HATE movies about war?
