I was lucky to work with the MTV Animation group, a bunch of very talented people. I got to work with all the animators of Beavis and Butthead, Beavis and Butthead Do America, Daria, and Celebrity Deathmatch. I know there are others that I'm forgetting, but it was fun. Liquid Television was great! Cartoon Sushi... not so great. Flux kinda of lamed out when it became a full blown series. It just didn't have that same cool edge once the characters had to actually open their mouths and speak. I know you can get them on DVD.

Just a note: Aeon Flux DVDS are a hot property over at eBay and Amazon. They're not selling for under $80 at amazon marketplace, and I see one going for $56 on eBay. The VHS, not so much.
To Cynthetiq: That must have been a cool job. I imagine the animators were pretty down to earth. Do you still work at MTV (I'm noting your location)? And if so aren't you getting sick of all the reality shows(not that I wouldn't love to work at MTV)? |

The animators were very cool. It was like hanging out in a creative dorm room. People slept in their offices in the afternoon and then stay up all night working. I wish that I had the opportunity to have met the Liquid Television show people, and the Maxx people.

Aeon Flux - The Movie!
Just pulled this blurb from Sci-Fi Wire:
Theron Stars As Aeon Flux Charlize Theron will star in Aeon Flux, an SF movie based on the MTV animated series, Variety reported. Lakeshore Entertainment and Paramount Pictures are financing the movie, with MTV Films and Gale Anne Hurd's Valhalla Productions producing, the trade paper reported. The film will shoot near Berlin in July. Karyn Kusama (Girlfight) is directing a script by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, the trade paper reported. In Aeon Flux, Theron will play an acrobatic superheroine assigned to kill the government leader 400 years in the future, in a world where humans live under a protective bubble after a virus has wiped out most of humankind. The animated series was created by Peter Chung, the trade paper reported.

If you liked The Maxx you deffinetly check out the comic series as the TV show was pretty much the first few issues. It just continued to get weirder though...
As for Aeon Flux, I thought it was okay but it's certainly better than most of the stuff on TV now...

Cool; i didn't know Liquid TV was part of MTV? It was on SBS here in Australia, a few years back.
Definitley a cool show, and Aeon Flux was one of my favourites as well. I missed a lot of the complete Aeon Flux show, once it screened on it's own merits |

i first got hooked on Aeon Flux when it was first part of Liquid Television, then the series rocked, i have a few tapes, my favorite episodwe was the one with the 'bliss pellets, where if you took it you forgot who you were, and Aeon hooks ups with the one legged dude. everything in that show was a phallic symbol.

I liked Flux, it wasn't one of my favorite animes, but it was good. Great visuals and the story line was alright, I guess. There was another anime by the same people, Alexander, based somewhat on Alexander The Great. It was good, but I just couldn't get into it.
I miss Liquid TV, great shows, thank god for cartoon network. The MAXX was the shit. |

Everyone here is saying how much they liked the show, but barley anyone has read the other posts and noticed that Charlize Theron is doing a remake of it.....Um this is some of the worst news I've heard. Someone mentioned that Peter Chung is cool. Well I don't know who that is, but he'd better have a great cinematographer or else this film is going to put a shitty cap on the series...

Aeon Flux's look is sooooooo important. Charlize better do an even better job transforming into Aeon Flux than even she did transforming into that serail killer. I always have mixed feelings about news like this. I've had my hopes dashed about adaptations so many times that I refuse to get excited about a movie until I can judge it for myself. |

I believe the guy who did the Brothers Grunt now does Ed, Edd, & Eddy for CN. Great show, that- sort of like an exaggerated version of my own childhood.
As for Aeon Flux, I was a big fan back in the Liquid Television days (Cynthetiq, I agree Cartoon Sushi was of a lesser caliber- everything was lowest-common denominator blood and fart jokes). My favorite episode was the one where she got wasted in the very beginning, and then we followed the soldier who killed her for a while, until he got killed too and we traded off to his killer, and so on.
