ok, im sure you guys have all read the reviews for this movie about how much it sucks, and it hasnt even come out yet. critics ar putting this one up there with "Glitter", "Crossroads", and "Swept Away" (yikes). and yes, i have to agree it sounds really crappy. i dont know how al pacino and christopher walken were roped into this mess (oh wait, thats right, MONEY). i was wondering though, do you think it would be getting such bad reviews if ben and jen werent set to get married. couples make notoriously bad movies, and i was thinking maybe that critics would give it more of a chance if they werent engaged. i dont know how much more of a chance though, because i cant see ben affleck, an aglo-saxon bostonian and a shitty actor, play a tough guy NY italian (his accent changes at least 5 times during the trailer alone, ughhh); or jennifer lopez play a smoking hot lesbian who is also a kick-ass mobster......this does have disaster written all over it, but i do think it would be different if ben and jen werent together

The only way I would watch this is if I were forced to Clockwork Orange style. You know, tied to a chair and eyes propped open unable to even blink. The two fools in this mockery are famous for being famous. I hope they fade away soon.

Since they are now inseparable, I only refer to these two as "Beniffer". I think that they also respond to "B-Lo".
He hasn't made a good movie since "Chasing Amy", and she's still looking for hers. I can't decide if her taking her top off would actually help or hurt the movie, though. "Gigli" has all the markings of being a "Showgirls" without the nudity and dance numbers.

I have to admit that I waited this morning for the Sun Times to post Ebert's review of Gigli. Somehow I was expecting him to intellectually savage and dissect the movie, but 2.5 stars? Egads, I want blood, and the desire of Siskel (god rest him) to "agree to disagree" is a'wantin.
As lame as it is, half the time I'd watch Siskel and Ebert when I was a kid was to see them rip a movie to shreds, or in some cases, rip each other up in their split decisions.

What I find difficult to believe is that they actually got Pacino and Walken to appear in it. I don't have to see this movie to know that it will suck badly.

Quick question. I've noticed on Ebert and Roeper that Ebert has some weird lip tic going on. Did he have a stroke or something? Half of his mouth seems paralyzed. |

This no-talent ass-wipe has never made a good movie. Until now, he's basically been saved either by his director or the material. (Dogma, for example) I have some fucking 2x4's in my garage that can act better than him! |
