The Practice
Ok I have never been a fan of lawyer shows or police dramas but I find myself glued to the TV everyday when The Practice comes on. I cannot explain it. I originally just told myself it was because of Lucy but theres more too it. I dont know if its just great writing or acting or a combination of both.
For example yesterday I was concentrating so much on the show that my character on my computer game was attacked and killed. I was cursing the California judge they were up against and just wishing I could be there too kick his ass. And of course before you know it its 11:00 and the three most dreaded words in tv history appear..."to be continued" NOOOO! Now i sit here and have to wait another 5 hours to find out whether they win the case and if Bobby breaks the judges neck or not. Curse the blasted tv gods and their hour only slate for primetime shows.

I think it was great in its prime, but it's gone downhill lately. I'm willing to bet this is its last season. Watching Chyler Leigh is easy on the eyes, though.

Bleh. The only drama show I used to watch was Law & Order, but that was way back when Ben Stone was still the Assistant DA.
Now, I just can't get myself to watch any of these new drama shows. Too overdone, in my opinion.

I used to watch it all the time but I got tired of the holier than thou acting method of Bobby, etc. And when his wife shot someone and they were all amazed she got sentenced to jail, but then got out...just threw me off.
John Larroquette was great on the show though...

Used to love the show.
Now, I'm tired of Bobby's whining, tired of Eleanor's preaching, and tired of Eugene poking out his lips when he's pissed (every three seconds).

The Practice is probably my second favorite prime-time drama on TV. That said though, I do agree it's not as good as it was. I never did like Eleanor though, she always bugged me. Bobby and Eugene would have to get really annoying for me to get sick of them.
Either way, as long as they have Lucy it'll be worth watching (I hope it doesn't get cancelled though, that'd stink. I haven't really watched it regularly for about 2 years now - just see episodes here and there - but I do think it's still one of the better shows on TV)

Well, they are still showing new shows, on Monday rather than Sunday though. But the show is in its seventh year, so it wouldn't be surprising if it was cancelled...
It's a great show. I loved those episodes in California, with Jimmy the Grunt laying the smackdown on the detective. Good stuff. |

Ok, I know this is reviving a 5 month old thread but I didn't see the need to start a new one. Tonight (9/28) was the season premiere. I didn't catch every episode last season. One question:
What happened to Bobby, his wife, the secretary (Lucy?) and the District Attorney (Laura Boyle)? |

Watched the premiere.
In the last episode of last season, Bobby left the firm because he couldn't handle the pressure. I believe his ex-wife (got a divorce) was still doing her own law firm thing, and for convenience purposes, she's no longer featured. They did not explaint he disappearance of Lucy (although, omg, this new girl owns) and I don't believe they explained Lara Flynn Boyle's departure. That new, weird guy kind of pisses me off. I'll defiantely watch it because I love it, but he's creepy.

Thanks EoOh1. I just think they should have done a synopsis to help transition the viewers to this new season. Yeah the new guy is creepy and weird. But I kinda like that about his character. I think he'll be a nice addition to the show.

I used to watch the show all the time. I will still watch it some but it really pisses me off that they fired all the best actors.

Thanks. I also found this:

Gone was Dylan McDermott, who starred as the founder of the fictional Boston law firm, along with several other castmates." from http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...v/tv_lookout_1 |
