He's always been a MAJOR badass.
I was already a longtime fan of the original television series as well as the animated series from Saturday mornings on NBC long before i ever layed eyes on a Hulk comic book. Although i bought the series regularly as a child it wasn't until Peter David's excellent run on the series that i became a true fan of the comic. The stories he wrote opened up new variations on the Hulk and Bruce Banner that no one had ever been able of successfully accomplishing. The psychological elements he introduced between Banner and the Hulk were great analogies to problems we all face with our emotions. The latest writer on the title is Bruce Jones and is definitely a refreshing breath of fresh air. Jones has taken ownership of the Hulk and, just like Peter David, has given the book a fresh spin that makes the reader hungry for each additional story. It's definitely something worth checking out. |

The Hulk was an Incredible comic (no pun intended), haven't read it in years though.
The movie Hulk is extremely exaggerated, I don't believe any artist over the years has made the Hulk 30 or so odd feet tall. Quite frankly, who gives a shit. He looks amazing, the CGI on him I believe will rival Gollum and the fact that the movie has a psychological base with Ang Lee at the helms gives reason to believe this is gonna be a monster hit. |

from what i heard, ang lee foocked up the whole story line and the movie will be almost nothing like the comic book. i never really liked hulk as much in the comic books...except when he was the grey version.

I never really followed the comin books, but I do intend to go see the movie.
If anything, the special effects should be well done.

I remember watching the Hulk on TV, and having never read the cartoon....this is a far far cry from my memories. Is this movie true to comics, as in the Hulk is 12ish feet tall, able to hurl tanks and yet with his size, is never quite in the buff ?
Seems cartoony when he is twirling the tank, but if thats how the comics are then so be it )

Looking forward to this. Used to read the comic and watch the tv series. Like you do when your a kid in awe ,and then go around playing it for half an hour. Ripping t-shirts and trousers in the process.

I'm not sure sometimes it looks cool as hell and then sometimes it looks stupid....
I don't think the hulk should have a babyface... he looks like a pist off shrek. I love the charecter, don't get me wrong, but I think they could of done a better job designing him for the movie http://www.apple.com/trailers/univer...ulk/trailer_5/ I think this is a new trailer

Instead of the Gamma Ray making Banner have the ability to HULK out it looks like his dad experimented on him, the Gamma seems to only have triggered it... not sure if I like how they changed this idea from the comic but the movie still looks bad ass.

I'm looking at the movie trailers with mixed emotions.
I agree that the Hulk seems to be getting progressively bigger and bigger (and never quite breaking out of those purple pants), but I'm intersted in seeing what Ang Lee does with the character. Plus Jennifer Connelly is the love interest (yaow!).

big damn hero

I think he 'grows' bigger the madder he gets.....at least that's what I seem to gather.
This might explian why in some scenes he's barely lifting cars, and in others he's wrestling tanks. Of course, I really have no foggy clue.

But in the books his posture was different, he was always bent over in a wrestling pose. His head was considerably smaller and not purportionate to his body.
<img src="http://toychest.diamondcomics.com/toys/08_02/Gray-Hulk-6.jpg"> And his face was much more cut... i gues my beef is that he does not look mean. Small head <img src="http://www.diamondcomics.com/update/500-599/513/hulk.jpg"> Maybe I'm drudging up some comic book geek past of mine.... who knows.

The HULK looks too CGI and I'm not feeling the realism. I will still see the movie. Can't wait for the Matrix to come out next week. This is going to be a great summer for movies.

I must say I'm having mixed feelings about this movie. Don't get me wrong it looks cool as hell. But he is a bit exagerated. I'm sure I'll see it and put a final decision about the movie.

This is directly from Marvel.com for ppl that had a few questions on the hulk.
---------------------- Caught in the heart of a nuclear explosion, victim of gamma radiation gone wild, Dr. Robert Bruce Banner now finds himself transformed during times of stress into the dark personification of his repressed rage and fury -- the most powerful man-like creature ever to walk the face of the Earth! Real Name: Robert Bruce Banner Occupation: Unemployed, former nuclear physicist Group Affiliation: None Base of Operations: Mobile First Appearance: Incredible Hulk (Vol. 1) #1 (1962) Height: 5’9 Weight: 128 lbs. as Banner, 1,040 Eye Color: Brown as Banner, green as Hulk Hair Color: Brown as Banner, green as Hulk Powers: The Hulk possesses superhuman strength that increases as he becomes enraged, can leap vast distances and has demonstrated a powerful healing factor. ------------------------------------ The movie looks neat but its seems like its going to be outside of the comic book storyline in several places. Also about the Grey Hulk comment someone mentioned, I remember there being 3 versions of the Hulk in the comics. 1st the big Green one every one remembers. The second was the purple or red Hulk I think, he was when the Green Hulk was even more enraged. And the Grey Hulk was when the Hulk had the powers of the Green Hulk but the mind of Bruce Banner and thought things through before the pounded ppl.

I'm not sure what to think of this movie yet. The action scenes will probably be amazing, but the story seems like it'll be a little typical and dull. Still, they have a good cast to work with, so who knows.
I'm not sure what to think of the effects yet, since we haven't really seen a nice sustained shot of the hulk moving yet. It's hard to judge with these little segments in the trailer. I've heard that the hulk is supposed to be ILM's answer to gollum, so I'm sure he'll turn out fine. He's just like yoda, but....bigger. Oh and for whoever mentioned hulk's size...yeah he supposedly gets larger depending on how pissed he is. Don't think that was the case in the comic, but that sounds neat to me. |

Personally, if it was just a remake of one of the comic books, I can't see it being that interesting.
Look at X-Men/Spiderman. The reason the movies had a wideranging fan base is because they did stray from the comic storylines and get into new ground. Having said that, if they don't have a good storyline, the movie will suck-idily-uck. |
