believe it or not the original uncut one. |
The Matrix... I will be watching Dune sometime this week as I borrowed it from my brother. Hopefully it lives up to my expectations after reading the books and hearing good things about the movie.
|
Battle Star Galatica
The Cube Equilibrium |
Planet of the Apes (the original 1968 version!)
also... This Island Earth Logan's Run There are many others, but these are the ones that came to mind off the top of my head. |
Empire Strikes Back.
My name does have "Yoda" in it, and all. |
The Matrix - I loved it.
|
Matrix, All 5 Planet of the Apes (not the new one, ugh), Star Wars
|
My favorites:
Aliens (the one with the space marines) The 5th Element Pitch Black |
Clockwork Orange
If that doesn't count, then Blade Runner. |
Alien
Aliens Blade Runner Westworld The Matrix ST: Wrath of Kahn Does 'Sleeper' count? If so, that too |
"2001", also my favourite movie of all time.
That movie does something to me that i have never been able to explain to anyone. |
Blade Runner
Star Wars (Any) Alien 1 + 3 Terminator 1 + 2 X-Men Predator 1 Minority Report Artificial Intelligence (hides behind TFP's flame-resistant wall) Also, Dark City, wouldn't that be Noir Fantasy? If not then I'll add it to my list too. "Sleep... now." |

I'd have to say the Matrix Minority Report the original 3 Starwars movies Dune (both versions had their good points and bad points) Independence Day (they blow up the white house) |
not a big fan of science fiction movies - i've read too much good science fiction. I can't stand explosions in space that make noise. It's the geek in me...
Probably Gattica. They made an effort to make the science feel real, good cast, good dialogue and looked great. Love a mystery/chase film! |
Blade Runner
Alien The Fifth Element Star Wars 2001 A Space Odessey The Matrix Terminator Predator Artifical Intelligence |
Silent Running
|
Vanilla Sky
Gattica Both amazing. |
No contest..... 2001:A Space Odyssey.
fuelmyfire, I understand what you mean........ damn film changed my life, literally |
The beginning sections of Dark City were excellent... but i felt it kinda lost its pace at the end. still, probably one of the best (and definitly one of the most original) sci-fi movies.
The Matrix was pure brilliance. Almost single handedly, it revolutionalised an industry. Terminator - probably amongst the best movies of all time imo. |

I AGREE DARK CITY HAD A VERY COOL AND ERIE BEGINING, THE THING WAS ALSO A GOOD ONE, AS WELL AS RED PLANET, AND PITCH BLACK.:p |
the matrix
aliens predator terminator blade runner mimic (loved the bugs) |
Dune
The Matrix 2010 The Terminator Dreamscape The Abyss All Star Wars |
|
Logan's Run
Blade Runner Clockwork Orange The Matrix X2 Dune |
you know, I started out thinking that, of course, the caveat "after Star Wars" was understood without saying it in the original subject....but then I really couldn't think of any other sci-fi movies that really moved me. So, I'm gonna have to just stick with the original trilogy, since they are in fact my favorite movies of all time...
|
Starship Troopers
Blade Runner Dark City (although if Dark City's permissible then also Strange Days) Gattica David Lynch's Dune and just for my nick's sake, The Black Hole (secretly thought it was horrible) |
not big on sci fi, but
terminator 2 aliens matrix x-men sw empire strikes back fave sci fi ever is anime: ghost in the shell i got b o r e d with blade runner and 2001 |
Throw me in for "The Crow". I'm not sure why but I love that flick.
And Zardoz! |
Blade Runner, and I'll also throw in Strange Days and Dark City.
|
I'm going to throw Lifeforce out there, as well as a movie called Saturn 3.
And most important of all... Close Encounters of the Third Kind. If we're talking tv though... I'd say 'V' and Red Dwarf take the cake. |
Blade Runner
The Matrix ...and the childhood memories vote: Tron ! |
Alien
Star Wars (OT) Blade Runner Ice Pirates Lifeforce 2001 |
