I don't remember, to be honest. Have you watched any movies at home with your child?
And, just as an aside, our local movie newspaper review suggested the new Winnie the Pooh to be the ideal first movie for a child to see.

My Nephew was 3 when my brother and I took him to see Ice Age 3. There was ONE scary part with a big Dinosaur, but other than that he was fine. Other than a melt down over reese pieces, he did really well, but he's a movie kid. A few months later my brother, sister-in-law, nephew and I went to see Toy Story 3. (LOTS of 3s here) That movie didn't have a scary dinosaur and we learned our candy lesson, so he did even better. I think he and I were more excited about the movie than bro and s-i-l. They took a nap while my nephew and I watched every second of it. He sat in my lap the whole time....It was so cute.
He probably watches too many movies at home though. He'll sit at home and become engrossed in a show without making a sound or move. He was the same at the theaters. I'm hoping his parents ween him off of movies and TV a little bit. |

according to my wife, she did real good. not sure on details. ill find those out when i get home.
she seems ok at home as far as 30 minute shows (super why, dora, barney, etc...) we try to limit her tv time and try to spend lots of time outside with her.

My daughter's been watching movies since she was about 3 (she's now 5), but only saw her first movie in a real theater last month when she saw the abomination that was Cars 2.
She got a bit restless during the last 10 minutes (she should consider herself lucky), but she's used to being able to pause the movie at home if necessary.

The first movie I remember seeing in the theatre was The Care Bears Movie, which puts me at about four (maybe three, if we saw it when it first came out.) My brother was almost exactly the same age (a couple weeks before his fourth birthday. Oliver & Company )
And I kinda want to see Winnie the Pooh...but I doubt I can talk Eden into going with me. Anyone have a kid I can borrow?

I don't have kids, but I'd like to take my nieces and nephews to see Captain America on the 22nd.
Unfortunately, I think it will be too mature for my youngest nephew at 5. When I was a kid in the 70's, the first movie I remember seeing in the theater was Pete's Dragon. I really liked that dragon.

well apparently the only issue was she was intimidated by all the people. christy said that she wanted to watch all the people in the auditorium. but overall she had fun and was good.
