The Cape (TV-NBC)

Super hero show that just started in January. I think its okay. I'm mostly posting because I want to know what the frak his powers are. He seems like batman with magic or something. Or like a downgraded version of Spawn. It seems like he can walk through walls, control electricity, use his cape to hit things, do some weird hypnotic thing, possibly fly, the list goes on. I missed the first episodes, so I'm guessing they explained it there.

I looked him up on wikipedia and stuff but couldn't find a listing of powers.

I watched the first three or four episodes, dvr'd the rest.
The cape is partially made of spiderwebbing that makes it stronger than steel, yet very flexible.

The crime circus ringmaster gives it to the hero after saying something about it being passed from person to person, good or bad and it reacts to their nature, and maybe even imagination.

A lot of his seeming powers are taught to him by the crime circus folks. I don't think he has any real superpowers, other than the mysterious cape.

Personally, I enjoy the show so far, but I don't see it lasting too much longer. Not with NBC's recent track record of cancelling low rated, but good shows. Fox does, too.

I've watched the first 4 episodes so far. He has no super powers, in fact. He can do some hypnosis, and has a bunch of stage magic, so he can do things like drop smoke bombs and 'disappear.' He also has the cape itself, which is stretchy and very strong. He mostly uses it to grab things and people at a distance, doing grapples and disarms at ranges of up to 20-30 feet.

So, he's a Batman style hero. He can't walk through walls or control electricity or fly. But...he might make villains think he can with a little deception and some forethought.

But that's exactly what he did on the episode I just saw. He was investigating the Lich's henchman. The henchman was behind locked doors and 2 guards. Suddenly the lights go out for 2 seconds and somehow he opened 2 heavy doors without making any noise, that was locked from the outside, and the 2 guards don't notice anything? There's got to be some magic. Or the writers are terrible.

I'm a big fan of batman and even I don't think batman could do that on a good day. Much less this cape guy who supposedly has no magic.

edit: I also don't get why he works with the "carnival of crime". So they gave him the cape? Thanks, now your under arrest.

Oh, and what does he do with caught villains? he just always says they're in some prison on an island I think. But he doesn't appear to know any prosecutors or anything....is the law different in his universe? If your found in prison then you must be guilty or something?
