bleh.. get over it.
The adaptation "Carmen" they did a few years back wasn't soo bad. Face it.. most people who watch MTV.. or even who are TFP memebers have no clue what Wuthering Heights is about.. (hence why im the only person to reply so far). If they have to do a little TV movie to get the story out there for people to get interested in, then so be it. How is MTV doing it any worse than a million high schools, or your music school, or a junior college? It's not. People need to stop being so critical and give things a chance before they start proclaiming how bad it is. |

you have to give credit to MTV Films because they take chances and don't look back at failures. They are low budget and they make their money back and a bit more. Then they go to air on MTV late night and are fodder for commercials. They just keep plugging forward.

haha... I can't even imagine what it will be like. It’s been four years since I read I read the book, but from what I remember I really don't picture any of the characters breaking into song. Though ganguro does have some points, it will bring the story to a wider audience and MTV does do some things right. I think many peoples hatred of MTV comes from the fact that they basically are misleading in the name "Music Television", and they aim for a very young teen audience. Though, they fit the niche for a young audience probably better than most stations. But that is the problem, so many stations aim at a young audience that we are inundated with it and sick of it. Ok, I made a bunch of little half points but that will have to do for now.

Ok, let me clarify a bit. The fact it's MTV isn't as bothersome to me as the general idea of a musical version of Wuthering Heights. I will say though that you do have a good point Ganguro - at least it will get the story out to the practically illiterate (at least when it comes to anything worth reading) MTV culture. For that I guess I should give them credit. But, I mean, like teflonian said, can you REALLY picture any of the characters breaking out into song?????

I knew I should have hung myself last year. Well, it's not like I'm being forced to watch it...yet.
