Fox Searchlight has suddenly given us a look at Danny Boyle's new one, "127 Hours," which hits the festival circuit in a few weeks and then theaters in November.

Yes, this looks cool, as all of Boyle's films do. It's full of life and unique visuals and thumping music and the mystical in the tragically real.
*horrific relevant context
(or as you might remember the story from Discovery's: "I Shouldn't Be Alive" series.)

I suppose I cannot wait any longer, and probably most of you have already seen it, perhaps, but... here it is: Let Me In Red Band Trailer - Trailer Addict

*relevant context: Due to the film's initial success at various film festivals, the rights for an English-language remake of the film sold before the film had its theatrical release. Matt Reeves will direct the English-language film, slated for release in 2010.

I'm glad you liked it, jewels.

I had that link in my queue for a few weeks, but went to input it, it expired, so I spent around ~20 min. trying to re-find it. Glad it wasn't for nothing.

I'm not sure how I feel about trailers. I don't love them, as I don't actively seek them out, nor do I totally loathe them, as they do serve a purpose as a quick synopsis of whatever may interest the individual audience.

Vincent Moon & Efterklang are proud to announce their film AN ISLAND. This is the second teaser of the film that will premiere Feb. 2011.

“August 2010, French filmmaker Vincent Moon and Efterklang’s 8 piece-live band met up on an island in the Danish country side. The objective was to shoot a film. A film with the same length as an album, and a film full of performances, experiments and collaborations.

Over an intense period of 4 days Efterklang collaborated with more than 200 local musicians, kids and parents, creating new performances and interpretations of songs from their Magic Chairs album. It was all filmed by Vincent Moon who same time conducted several filmic and musical experiments with Efterklang as his dedicated play mates.”

weird thing is: I coulda sworn Spielberg had already made the film some 25+ years ago

Quote:
The Paramount Pictures release is set in Ohio in 1979 and introduces
a troupe of six youngsters who are using a Super 8 camera to make
their own zombie movie. One fateful night, their project takes them
to a lonely stretch of rural railroad tracks and, as the camera rolls,
calamity strikes — a truck collides with an oncoming locomotive and
a hellacious derailment fills the night with screaming metal and raining fire.
Then something emerges from the wreckage, something decidedly inhuman.

Quote:
On April 8, 2000, Mark Hogancamp was attacked outside of a bar by five men who beat him nearly to death. After nine days in a coma and forty days in the hospital, Mark was discharged with brain damage that left him little memory of his previous life.

Unable to afford therapy, Mark creates his own by building a 1/6-scale World War II-era town in his yard and populating it with dolls representing himself, his friends, and even his attackers. He rehabilitates his physical wounds by manipulating the small dolls and props -- and his mental ones by having the figures act out various battles and stories.

When Mark begins documenting his miniature dramas with his camera, his photos are discovered and published by Esopus magazine and even shown in a New York art gallery. But having the label of "art" applied to his intensely personal work forces Mark to make a choice between the safety of his fictional town and the real world he's avoided since his attack.
