Hey guys,

Does anyone know of any books relating to the usage of drugs in art and culture? Maybe even more specifically about how this or that person has used drugs to make this or that, etc.

Try biographies of (off the top of my head) Slash, Kieth Richards, Charlie Parker, John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley.

All have had issues (good and bad) that have helped and hindered their creativity and performance.

I just looked up a few of Castaneda's books and they don't seem to deal with drugs. I also looked up the book High Art at Amazon and the price of that book is absolutely ridiculous. $700 for a new copy and $160+ for a used? No thanks.

As for the biographies, I was looking for more of a variety than just one person in a book. This is going to be a gift for someone, and lately she's been interested in how drugs have affected different kinds of works of art and literature.
