Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon

I just saw an episode of this and I just don't know what to say. They can get away with alot more since they aren't on nickelodeon anymore but, to me it looks like they turned ren and stimpy into a gay couple.

Has anybody else seen it and if so, what do you think?

Just saw it last night, and I am supremely disappointed. Putting aside the fact that they are now homosexuals, which is where 90% of the comedy is now derived, I just find that they have pushed the envelope so far that they have crossed the line from hilarious to just plain vulgar. From what I hear, they did not bring back one of the original creators of Ren & Stimpy, and this is probably the problem. I remember only a few years ago laughing my ass off at Ren & Stimpy on Sunday mornings right after I watched MST3k. TNN should be ashamed for ruining that show just to seem "edgy". No wonder that network is having problems getting anyone to watch. I'd rather watch the damn WB.

Actually, they did bring back the original creator, John K. And they have always hinted about their sexuality a bit, but couldn't make it so blatent since it was on a children's network.

I'm not sure what I think yet.. I think I'm going to have to see a few more episodes before I make a real judgement on it.

My apologies, it wasn't the writer, it was Billy West, the voice talent. My mistake. That just makes me even more shocked at how unfunny they are now.

I think it turns out that they are not gay and they were just gay in the first episode as a prank on the fans.

I think the most recent episode, with Mr. Horse as the psychologist, is a vast improvement over the first. No gay jokes, less gross-out humor, and, well, it had Mr. Horse in it.

I recall that John K. said in an interview a while back that he intended Stimpy to be gay, and totally devoted to Ren, while Ren just sort of dealt with it until he could get his hands on a nice human woman.

As for the far-out pilot, I don't know if it was as extreme as it was as an indication of what was to come, or just to show that this wasn't quite the R&S we'd grown accustomed to. Only time will tell, I guess.

I watched half an episode last night and it just didn't have the blatant funniness of the original. I love the animation style... I love the old show... but this new one is just not funny anymore. I don't see much difference between 'Ren and Stimpy' and 'Adult Party Cartoon'. The only thing adult about it is grosser scenes and lamer jokes...

While I haven't seen the new Ren and Stimpy I'd have to say that it is always difficult to re-visit a cult hit like the original.

I really think it is a big case of been there done that...

what made the show a classic on nick was just how everything was implied. just seeing the humor that others may overlook made the show that much funnier.

i saw the first new episode a couple weeks ago, and boy was i dissapointed. i was watching with a few friends who had never seen the show before. one was like "how is this supposed to be funny. its just gross." i just sat there just hoping for something to make me laugh, but i never did.

i think they ruined the show with the crude humor. they just threw the shit at you hoping it would stick to the wall. it didnt. the show was dumb, and i just didnt flow like a Ren and Stimpy show should have. i think one of the problems was that the whole episode was just one story.

if i catch it be accident, i'll probably give it another shot. but as of right now, i can live without that show.

I really can't stand the show! It's like they took a piece of my childhood, ruined it beyond comprehension, and then tried to sell it back to me saying "Look! It's for adults now! And everything is better when it's for adults!"
