T3: Rise of the Machines (no spoilers)

Please be cautious of spoilers.

I can only comment on it simply. Some of it was over the top, and the story became very simple. It's amazing special effects, neat really.

It didn't make my head hurt as much as Reloaded did.

Mr.Deflok 07-01-2003 01:05 AM

I've been an avid follower of the progress of T3 and have seen every behind the scenes segment, every trailer, every presskit scene and possible spoiler pertaining to this film out there and from what I gather the film is very clever in it's plot and very meticulous in its action sequences. Unfortunately for me I won't be able to see this highly anticipated flick for another 17 days as that is when it is released here in New Zealand.

Comes out tomorrow by me, and I'm gonna be there!!

Cynthetiq 07-01-2003 10:22 AM

at the request of the people commenting on my journal entry...

It rocked!!! the first 20 minutes (i think it was 20 mins) was very much, just when you thought they couldn't out do it, they out do themselve yet again... over and over...

as far as special effects... not as "cutting edge" as T2.... but it was still very enjoyable.

lafemmefatale 07-01-2003 08:45 PM

WOWWWWWWWW! I just saw it...and regularly these macho blow up movies seem retarded...but this was impressive...a lil on the short side but...very impressive...the ending made me mad though. Still...pretty good, Reloaded may surpass this in the 'concept' of the plot but in terms of a good spectacle, Keanu Reeves next to Arnold Schwaseslsadjfjl [however it's spelled] is not even close.

I have a question (havent seen it yet) didnt they destroy SkyNet in T2? Arnold going into the molten destroyed the last chip. John said "We got SKyNet by the balls now" so what gives? This doent even go into the fact that because time travel was done in the first it never ends.

spectre 07-01-2003 11:21 PM

The movie fucking rocked! It didn't drag, and the action wasn't overdone to the point where one would get sick of it. They did their best to explain everything, and I think they did a pretty good job. Definite thumbs up on this movie.

nope.. they only destroyed the advanced technology that would help create the terminator machines and advanced AI. There's no direct correllation between Cyberdyne systems (terminator manufacturer) and Skynet.

THE MAC GOD 07-02-2003 12:27 PM

Yeah... in the movie they clear up why Arnold is back, why the machines are still coming back through time, and leave it wide open for part 4.

But it was good... VERY good, with a surprising amount of humor in there too!

My GF didn't LOVE the first two (she thought they were OK) but really liked T3 last night (saw the first showing the day before iot opens :) ). Furlong (connor) actually does a good job and is believable... and arnold just plain kicks ass again! And the chick is as terminator as the others. DAMN. And the action is pretty freaking awesome (like the cable from that huge truck in the chase scene).

SO, go see it. IT's really good. IT SEEMS a little short, especially if you just watched T2, but it is still a great hour and 40 min.

Actually, John Connor was played by Nick Stahl. And Kristanna Loken as the T-X, yum. :)

thank god is wasn't Furlong... I forgot what I seen him in recently .. but it wasn't a good thing.. nor memorable.

Loup 07-02-2003 03:53 PM

Going to be seeing it tomorrow and am looking forward to it ... especially with these reviews I've been hearing.

*TINY SPOILER*

I just saw it tonight. I really liked it. I didn't go in expecting too much, and I was quite pleased. Some things didn't quite jive though. If he was not supposed to be the same Terminator from T2, then how did he know to check the visor for keys to the truck he stole?

Although they were amusing, the tiny little one liners didn't quite fit in with the feel of the movie. I give it 4 out of 5 inflatable Terminatrix boobs.

carl0z 07-03-2003 12:44 AM

My mother accually made a movie with one of the producers of T3, Andy Vanja. So I was lucky enough to get tickets to the grand LA screening, with the red carpet and everything!! I saw Arnold and Danny Devito there. The movie is very, very well made. I really recomend you see it. At the first chase scene, (I wont spoil it) I was sitting there, not breathing, with my jaw on the floor. It was stunning. GO SEE IT!!!

carl0z 07-03-2003 12:45 AM

Oh yeah, and the Terminatrix was hot too.

I think that he was told a number of things before his time travel including the key/visor thing, and also "basic human psychology".

I just watched HBO's first look and was still amazed at the digital effect. Stan Winston is really the man.

Sparhawk 07-03-2003 06:20 AM

Terminatrix! Good one!

Lebell 07-03-2003 08:13 AM

I was wondering if we would see the obligatory naked Arnie shot and I wasn't disappointed. What depressed me is that a guy about to hit his 56th birthday still looks like he could kick my and anyone else's asses combined.

You know Arnie works his butt off to look like that.

Anyway, I'll echo everyone and say the movie was very very good and will be added to my two Terminator disks when it's released.

I was wondering how they were going to explain the seeming inconsistancies between T2 and T3, but they did a decent enough job. I was surprised at the ending, but I guess T4 was a foregone conclusion.

apparently he worked out 3 hours every day...even if i worked out like that 5 hours every day I don't think I'd even come close...

he truly is a remarkable specimen.

Stare At The Sun 07-03-2003 01:11 PM

I really dug t3. and not to seem like a total jackass that has no clue, which i dont, is t4 coming out? I mean, people say it is, but is it confirmed or anything? God i hope so, that ending, when hes looking at the mike, and picks it up, and says "this is john connor" i just had these visions of him like directing troops and stuff. I really hope t4 does come out. But all in all, i think the movie was awesome.

Reese 07-03-2003 01:42 PM

Awesome! I was going to say it was the best action movie since.. but I couldn't think of anything to compare. I liked the humor and story even though it was kind of similar to T2. The first twenty minutes had me smiling from ear to ear :) I REALLY hope this movie does well at the box office. I don't know if I want T4 but if it happens I'll be there.

I think he actually looked like he was in better shape for this movie then was for T2. That's pretty damned impressive.

Mr.Deflok 07-03-2003 02:11 PM

I have to wait another 12 days before I see it, damn!!! Good to see all ya'll loving it.

Loup 07-03-2003 02:29 PM

Saw it today - very impressed :)
Great movie, non-stop action and the sound shook me out of my seat in a couple of scenes.

KillerYoda 07-03-2003 04:02 PM

Pretty damn good movie, and they didn't have any annoying main characters like in T2 (eg: Eddie Furlong).

diergray 07-03-2003 08:25 PM

One of the best action movies ever. It is hard to think of any examples that come close to the level of action this movie maintained.
