you have to keep in mind, Alan is changing things up, just because you know what happens in the books, doesnt mean thats what happens in the show. Eggs died in a car wreck in the book, Lafayette was dead in book one, Maryann didnt do all that crap and certainly didnt die.....the books are a template, the show isnt canon

I forgot how this show just LOVES cliffhangers. So, werewolfs, I know that we were told that we would have wolifies in this show, but I really figured Eric kidnapped Bill. I'm guessing that since the "King" of Mississippi is going to be in the show, that's where Bill is going to be most of the time. Wonder how the werewolf/vampire connection is in MI.
Was it just me or were they showing a lot of male ass in this ep? I'll put up with it if Jessica naked. |

Only been able to watch the first 24 minutes of the episode in pieces, thanks to limited online resources, and spam-like torrents.
But so far, me likey. Eric ass? Check! Always a good start to the season. There's been a couple of audible squeals by me during this episode, oh boy, hot stuff. Can't wait to watch the rest. Once I get my hands on it. |

I cannot even begin to tell you how addicted I am to this show and I just started watching it within the last 2 months. I saw all of season 1 over a period of 4 weeks, then I had a season 2 marathon this past weekend. Watched all 12 episodes in 2 days. Every time one ended, I *HAD* to see the next one. And now I am able to watch season 3 as they air. My friend from work is recording them for me and I get them on DVD on Monday. I can hardly wait for the next new episode already!!!

That was def different, Im just really disappointed in Bill having sex with her. Sometimes I wonder what makes Alan want to deviate from the books with stuff like that lol

Probably the same reason I'll watch the TV show as a guilty pleasure but have no interest in reading the books
In this particular instance, though, I don't quite understand why he did that. I mean, I get that it was hateful angry sex, but, uh, why not just NOT have sex with her? Pretty sure that's a better way to get back at her. The scene in the motel with Tara and English Vampire (whatever his name is) had a frustrating production error. Looking out the window, it seemed like daylight, not streetlight, that was shining on him. We know it was supposed to be nighttime because it was dark when Tara opened the door, but it made onodrim and I do a double-take. Vampire mythology gripe: it doesn't make sense for there to be a magical barrier that prevents vampires from entering a human's home uninvited, yet they can glamour someone across that barrier and make that person invite them in. ---------- Post added at 08:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:06 AM ---------- Oh yeah, I'm totally down with killing off Tara and everyone related to her except Lafayette. Easily the most annoying characters on the show, and that's saying something! ---------- Post added at 08:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:09 AM ---------- Hmm, maybe you need to revisit the books? I just came across a bunch of people talking about how the scene happens in the books (implying, of course, that it does happen). As one person notes, "In the books he is supposedly compelled by his maker due to the nature of the blood bond between them." That's the only explanation onodrim and I could come up with for why he'd do that, but it really makes no sense because we already know that she released him.

edit... I know what they are referencing now, and its FAR different than whats in the show...I wont say anymore for those that still might want to read them.
Lorena is only in the 3rd book for a few pages, a confrontation between her and Sookie towards the end, she wasnt in Dallas as per the 2nd True Blood season at all.

This is a show that desperately needs to figure out what to do with characters who aren't involved in the A plot.
Tara is just miserable about something and doesn't do anything of importance or interest in any episode, just like season 2. Sam is lonely and trying to find out about his past, but doesn't really do anything interesting...just like season 2. Jason is torn up about having killed someone...just like with Eddie. Other than that, he does nothing but feel guilty. I've seen this particular movie before. Lafayette is sassy and is involved in the dangerous V trade. Just like season 1. And season 2. At least he's entertaining, though. Alan Ball needs to learn to either severely withdraw focus from unused characters (a la The Wire) or kill them off (a la every Joss Whedon show). Keeping them around for no reason is just boring, except for Lafayette cause he's fun.

In my opinion thats his one main mistake, none of these characters were prominent in the book, well except for Sam, but he has completely changed Sam's family dynamic, in the books Sam was raised with his family and they were a good family, not whats being portrayed now.
I can understand expanding on characters since the books are all written in Sookie's point of view, but he's gone overboard. He turned Tara from a white chick that has a decent life owning a clothing boutique to the black whiny bitch that she is....Personally I think Lafayette needs more time lol
