for those of us old enough to have watched this.... did you know they are making a movie with Will Ferrell playing the dad?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457400/ cant wait to see how the modern day sleestak will look!!! While I loved all the Sid and Marty Kroft shows, they truly made saturday mornings great for me...this one was my absolute favorite Nice to see Marty Krofft is producing it

I had heard that he was making a movie with that title, but I didn't realize it was "the" Land of the Lost. That show was one of the best and dominated my Saturday mornings. The only thing that bothered me was the checked shirt that Holly always wore. Sid and Marty Krofft were/are absolute geniuses. I think my favorite was "The Bugaloos". However, I watched an episode that I found online a while back and I'm not sure where my head was when I was so into this show. I still have my Bugaloos lunchbox. And H R Pufnstuf. I just looked it up, and there were only 17 episodes of HR Pufnstuf. Such a phenomenol show and only 17.

As someone who watched the original as well I'm sure this remake will suck.

I wonder how many on this board even remember Sid and Marty Krofft's shows...
I admit I am curious how this will turn out but I can't say I am excited about land of the lost... now if it was Wonderbug or Dr. Shrinker, you'd have me.

Damn, this thread brings back memories.
Those Sleestaks scared me as a kid, and I had a crush on Holly and the female Bugaloo. I don't think they were S&M Krofft's, but I also loved to watch The Banana Splits after school. (Was it after school?) Will Ferrell as the dad, huh? That doesn't seem right. Iirc, the dad was the straight man, while the kids and Chaka got into trouble and were the comic relief. This doesn't bode well.

Gee and no mention of Charles Nelson Reilly in Lidsville???? He's the reason I loved to watch Match Game!!!
Will Ferrell played a good straight man in Stranger Than Fiction, a good role and movie.

Charles was the greatest. His delivery was exceptional, and his humor was the best. He loved all of the fairy jokes they threw at him. Or he seemed to, maybe he didn't. They would never be allowed today. And I never realized, until tonight while I was looking at clips from the Krofft shows, that Mark on Lidsville was Eddie Munster.

All hail the power of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl...
Wonderbug Dr. Shrinker Land of the Lost It's really amazing what passed for children's entertainment back in the day (especially before Regan deregulated kid's TV).

You know, when they said there was gonna be an A-Team remake as a movie, I wanted to puke.
When they said there would be a Spaceballs television series, I wanted to go suck-start my 9mm. But this? I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Will Ferrell. But even with Marty Kroft directing, just hearing about this makes me want to light my hair on fire and jump off a skyscraper naked, with five raw pork chops around my neck, landing in a lake. A lake filled with Rottweilers and gasoline. If they start talking about a Clutch Cargo remake, I swear to God, I *will* take action...

I am sooo happy to hear this, I get to look forward to both this and the 2nd Dark Crystal movie! Holly, Chaka, Sleestaks...can't wait.
I absolutely loved Land of the Lost and Sigmund and the Sea Monster as a kid. Thank you for the clips Charlatan, I had completely forgotten about Wonderbug and Dr. Shrinker, which I also loved! They almost tainted my memories though, seeing how crappy the production was, just below Clash of the Titans. I guess we kids had low expectations (not that there was much better effects out there before Lucus and Star Wars). I'm highly skeptical of Will Ferrell being able to "not" be Will Ferrell in this movie though, seems like poor casting to me. I haven't seen Stranger than Fiction though so I can't speak to his range. Shani, I remember and loved Shazam! too. Slightly Off Topic: It was a bit later and not Kroft, anyone remember watching "Great Space Coaster" everyday before school? Gary Gnu..."No Gnews is Good Gnews".

My favorite part was the times the guy carved the clay character (I forget its name) into different designs. He was very creative.
