Character cross-contamination?
 

Somewhat inspired by the recent porno blunder thread, I thought I'd toss this out there.


Is there a T.V show (or movie) that you absolutely cannot stand to watch because of a lasting impression from one of the actor's other roles?


My girlfriend's step sister is absolutely obsessed with a children's show "iCarly" on Nickelodeon. The premise of the show is basically a weekly webcast by a young girl and her two friends, and their attempts to capture an increasing audience.

As I'm sitting there, forced to watch the first ten minutes of the episode, the main characters female accomplice continues to bother me for some reason. I can't for the life of me put my finger on it, but something doesn't sit right. That's when I realize: this bubbly little blonde child played the victim of a sexual predator in an episode of Law and Order! As soon as I came to this realization, I've found myself completely unable to sit and watch the show, much to the dismay of the eight year old step sister.

My Mom could never watch Paul Reiser in Mad About You because of his role in Aliens.

well, every time i see a movie with Russell Crowe. I think about romper stomper and expect him to beat down an asian.

I can't watch Tom Hanks as easily anymore since Forest Gump....keep expecting him to say "That's mah boat" at some point...

Yep since forrestgump I can not watch Tom Hanks either, outside of some of his older comedy.

I think Ron Livingston, aka Peter Gibbons from Office Space is another. I tried watching him in Band of Brothers, and all I could think of was "You know the take a penny leave a penny?"

Lawrence Fishburne from the Matrix.. I can't do it.. I expect him to wax nostalgic about the "prophecy" at any point...

Im with your mom on this one. Every time I saw F*&^ing Burke on the screen I would want to punch him.

The T3 that they hired to replace Mulder on The X-Files was like that for me, a little bit. I kept waiting for him to shatter into drops of mercury, or turn his hands into big hooks or something.

David Schwimmer, with the exception his performance in Band of Brothers, because he always seems to be playing Ross.

Yeah, I find David Schwimmer and Tate Donovan always seem to play the mumbling, stumbling guy; even when the part doesn't call for it.
