I'm as inclined to like the Wachowski Brothers as much as anyone - I love the first Matrix, really like the second, and pretend the third doesn't exist. Also, they went to my high school and even had some of the same teachers I did.
That said, what the hell? This looks horrible. I'll admit that sometimes trailers make a movie look farse worse than it actually is, and that as an adult I may be slightly over the target audience's age. Even so, the guys that made The COOLEST MOVIE EVER are doing this?

They say this is the first family-oriented movie that the Wachowski Bros are trying out... V for Vendetta wasn't family oriented? I saw it with mine.
Will is right, this movie is designed for people to start tripping in the theater. The worst part is, when I go to tell myself, "It's only a movie," I'll be right...

This looks terrible. And that's about as helpful as I'm willing to be right now.

It seems like they're attempting to mix animation with real actors sorta like Sky Captain, Roger Rabbit, Spy Kids, Sin City, etc. Those movies exceeded all expectations and showed the industry that it can work. Movies like the Star Wars prequels showed that it can be a major disaster. Here's to hoping the Wachowskis know what they're doing.

I'm trying to enjoy this trailer, because I'm a huge Wachowski brothers fan, but this just looks retarded. I have hope, as always with the Wachowskis, but this just isn't tickling my "non-hatred" bone.
I just watched the trailer again and it still sucks. I'm sorry to the Wachowskis and the main character in The Girl Next Door and John Goodman but it just looks stupid right now. If they are going to go with that graphics style they've gotta polish it up some.

I wouldn't say it looks terrible. I'm inclined to believe they are blending/contrasting the real, the digital, and the cartoony knowingly. This makes for a lot of eye-candy. This could be delightfully delicious, or it could induce a tummy ache.

I thought they chose well when they picked V for bringing a comic to life. I know when a person has the money its their right to artistically express talents in any way they choose. I just had to throw out the minor agitation I have with producers making movies out of cartoons, because its the thing to do. I would rather see someone go behind a movie that was already made and create a masterpiece like Batman Returns (IMO) than to appealingly go through a list of what's been done and what hasn’t and start picking. They would have been better off to write their own story if they wanted to make such a movie. At least they wouldn’t have had to put a fat kid with his chimp friend in it to stay true to a cartoon storyline. I really like their style. I think they are exceptional script writers and great directors. The effects do look cool. I even watched the cartoon when I was young. I just thought these guys were above this. Thanks for supplying the link, I like to keep up with upcoming movies and I missed this one. I may decide to stomach what I expecting in the way of storyline to see the visuals on a big screen.

Well....the movie looks about as good as I think a Speed Racer movie could be. Which is not saying much, since I never liked Speed Racer.

This movie looks awesome. I am starting to get excited over it. I love the visual style they're going for (a blend of real life and cartoon like Sin City). It angers me how many people still think they're trying to make it look real and are failing miserably. It's not supposed to look real.

I'm split on this. On one hand, the trailers make the film out to be an LSD-laced mind fuck, and goodness knows I enjoy those. On the other hand, however, not only are we dealing with the overly pretentious Wachowski Brothers, but according to Latino Review, the script (first draft, but still...) is as boring as a cold potato, so...
I dunno. This looks like a complete failure, but who knows? It could be so insanely over the top that it could be a masterpiece.
