REVIEW: Enchanted (2007)
 

Well, let's clear the air by saying that I don't mind a good chick flick now and again. Just like any other movie genre, as long as it isn't a new rehashing of the same crappy plot with different characters, I generally enjoy it.

Enchanted was just such a movie in a somewhat ethereal way. Sure, it's a love story. Sure, it's a Disneyesque film. But despite the somewhat typical concepts, the acting and the story are truly fantastic. One synopsis is as follows:

Giselle, the fairytale princess played by Amy Adams is a GREAT character. This girl has live-action Disney princess down so perfect, it's sometimes difficult not to picture her animated persona drawn over her real-life self. The movements, subtle but over the top, the voice, the expressions... she truly is a Disney princess come to life. Amazing! Patrick Dempsey, who plays a divorce lawyer who is the first to have real contact with Giselle upon being dumped into the real world, does a damned good job, too. And as I'm sure TotalMILF would find me remiss at not pointing out, he's eye-candy for the ladies.

In the end, it's a cute and fun take on a typical style of love story with enough newness to be worth a few bucks at the local cinema.

I watched with with my younger and older brother and his girlfriend. I thought it was good. BUT...needs more musicals in the real life part. Can't get enough of it. I've also found a new respect for Cyclops.
