Although, I found it funny that during flashbacks telling Freddy's story they showed scenes from Nightmare On Elm Street 2, which those involved consider the redheaded stepchild of the series since it strayed away from the concept of the franchise. |
According to IMDB, F. vs. J. cost $25 million to make and it grossed $36+ million in its opening weekend. So expect both of these series to continue. I think most people just enjoy the good, campy fun of these films. In addition, the overall quality of all films that get released anymore has actually dropped below slasher films, i.e. slasher films are supposed to be bad and Gigli was not, so many people are pleased when a movie delivers just what it promises: gore and humor without trying to get too philosophical.

I liked it, but...
I would have like a few more cool kills. They did do a great job creating characters that you wanted dead ASAP. Lots of blood and some pretty funny one liners.

Seriously I just saw the movie and thought (for what it was, I mean I wasnt expecting the best movie of all time here) that it was great. What I love about seeing movies like this in the theatre is listening to people jumping and screaming while I'm laughing my ass off. |
When I heard about the movie I said here we go again ... How many times are they going to get killed this time?? Part ???

I thought it was pretty good, if they had just invested in some better actors, and cleaned up the dialogue it would have been awesome.
