Hitman movie is coming
 

i don't know if i should post this in gaming or here, but since it's a movie....

they are making a movie based off Hitman 47, vin diesel is playing the lead. i love love love the game, i'm gonna see the movie no matter what. i just wonder if it's gonna be good. i like vin diesel, i liked him in triple x, but the video game movies, like doom and resident evil, leave me a bit....wanting. still gonna see it though, i'm compelled. anyone else excited about this?

Most of the gamer community is excited about this, and the makers of the movie just confirmed it would be R, not a "pussified" PG13 version.
Violence is what Hitman is about, so I hope it's violent. :D

I don't know what gaming community you are part of, but from what I know most of the gaming community is skeptical about this. Mainly because Olyphant looks too young and baby faced to be playing Agent 47. Sure, many hope it will turn out good, but it's a movie based on a video game. Not many of those turn out well.

This is going to be horrible--I called it. I actually never like the character enough to see an actual movie about him. Why this gets the go ahead when stuff like metal gear solid or halo gets roadblocked only points out the silliness of Hollywood.

It's called RIGHTS.

The people or company that own the rights to MGS and Halo are cautious about how those dramatic rights are to be exploited. (yes that's the words that they use when talking about rights, I've been working in a contracting capacity for the past 6 months now specifically about rights and territory distribution.) It is all about being able to exploit the rights as best as they can. Blame the rights owners, not "Hollywood". Hollywood is a whore, they'd make anything that they could get their hands on that has enough of a draw to make it worthwhile.

I've always thought that if they were to make a Hitman movie, Jason Statham should be the Hitman. No one else. I think I'll pass on this one.

metal gear would so much kick ass...but i bet they would find a way to ruin it...

Ahh ok. That's good to hear, I heard it was stalled the last time I checked. This movie got made without any roadbumps such as the other movies (halo)--it's always the good stories/universises that have trouble.

"Hitman" is gonna suck due to the actor.

They should have had Jason Statham do the role.

Totally gonna make me cry if it sucks. They should have Kurt Russell as Snake.

ya know they are gonna re-make escape from new york, which is a crime as far as i'm concerned. they asked kurt if he wanted to do a cameo, he told them to fuck off...

I just hope that Hitman isn't canned cheese.

I want the franchise to be intact after this thing drops.

Like Transformers. I had ZERO issues with that flick.

Great movie. Awesome plot. Good, solid characters.

Statham is too busy doing another crap game movie, Dungeon Siege, directed by the world infamous Uwe Boll, to do Hitman. I think Statham needs a new agent.

Uwe Boll's "Postal" was hilarious.

Now he's gonna ruin TWO movies: One by not being in it and one by being in it!

ok, so i saw it.

i liked it a lot.

amazingly, he walked like hitman in the game (i've only played the PC version, not the PS or XBOX versions).

odd storyline, good cinematography, liked it alot. cool thing was, no big name actors. i didn't' know anyone in it at all.

some of the scenes look like they were taken out of the game. like the bathroom hit. and i liked the way his suit didn't always fit, like in the game.

and it was produced by vin diesal. go figure.

so good, i wanna wear a black suit, white shirt, and red tie now.

I remember buying the ticket and walking into the theater. I remember walking out and driving home. I just can't remember the movie. There might have been a nude scene and an explosion. Maybe swords? I dunno. The same thing happened when I saw Chronicles of Riddick. Weird.

I don't see how this can be good - the nature of the Hitman games are to get the job done with as little violence as possible. In the previews, I see explosions and sudden outbursts. I just don't know. Sure, you can pull a storyline out of your ass and just "adapt" the character, but at that point, I lack all interest.

As someone else who works in the business of rights and distribution, I will second this comment.

Oh sweet Allah-pants, please don't tell me you get paid to critique movies. I need that job. I use more adjectives, too.

I'm going to go see this movie simply because the guy has a bar code on the back of his head and I wanna see if it rings up to "Smucker's strawberry jam" during the fight scene where his head gets scanned at Kroger.

The movie is so bland, basic, predictable, and stupid, it's not worth remembering.

I want you to write my eulogy, too.

Impressive, but I was hoping for more an "A-Team" theme.

That's nothing. Have you ever seen a sword error?

I don't know a whole lot about swords, but I know a third degree black belt who I could drag to the movie. He makes swords look more dangerous than guns.

You have to be fucking kidding me!! Why on earth would Statham agree to a movie by Uwe Boll? And why do they even let him direct anymore?
