Outsourced (the movie)
There was a movie called “Outsourced” playing here in SF this weekend, but I missed it, did anyone catch it? It was also playing in NYC, and other west coast cities (Seattle, Portland, etc). I saw this website: http://www.outsourcedthemovie.com/home.cfm - it definitely interested me because they compared it to “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” and that is my favorite movie. I love cross-cultural romances.

I saw it in Berkeley yesterday, I really liked it. The story could have taken the film down a bad road, but the tone and the details they used kept it from doing so. I also thought that they really drove home how distanced the main character was from everything in his life (work, family, friends, love), and made India that force that brought him closer to life. Without that slightly spiritual bent (and the scene in the temple to Shiva lingam) it could have been such a stereotypical story. Here's the NY Times review: http://movies.nytimes.com/2007/09/28...tml?ref=movies
