Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I went to a new theater for the first time today and was pretty much pissed off by the time the movie started. Hubby and I tend to go to the same theater if at all possible, a theater that refuses to show commercials before the movie. It's not the reason we go to that particular theater, but it's just a perk. This theater we went to had about ten commercials before the trailers....and so many trailers that the movie started about half an hour after the scheduled time. I like the previews, but 3 or 4 is good....not 7 or 8. I guess when I go to a movie, I expect to pay for the movie....not pay for time that the movie chain is making money from.

Century theatres plays no commercials, and there is even a postre with the movies posters that says something like "if you want to watch commercials, watch tv.. we won't show commercials EVER"
I hope they don''t merge with Regal whose 2wenty thing sucks balls but at least it starts before teh slated start time for the movie.

Yep, it's a Century theater. I've never seen the poster, but I've definitely noticed the lack of commercials!!!
